Overdose? Serotonin syndrome? What happened to me? Please, need advice.

The OP is from Australia, as they have mentioned. Let's keep the discussion on topic, that is, discussing the symptoms the OP experienced, etc. We have a social thread here if you would like to discuss the various differences between health care systems in different countries.

I know it is a little late to help the OP, but if you think you have serotonin syndrome I would not recommend taking 5-htp to help sleep as it is a precursor to serotonin.

To donkey love:

I'm sorry, but you're the one who appears extremely ignorant about how best to respond to an adverse drug reaction or panic attack. In the event of either case all a hospital will do is monitor your heart and vitals and give you Benzos to sedate you and basically reverse over stimulation and minimize anxiety. If I hadn't taken the Xanax the situation could have gotten very ugly. Benzos are life savers in a crisis, just don't make a habit out of them.

You have an anxiety disorder (that may or may not have been underlying) which is being instigated by drug use. Stop using drugs, excercise, eat well, allow the chemicals in your brain to recalibrate.

In the unlikely situation that these symptoms continue, I would look into finding supplements that can help with your anxiety, and in the worst case, medication.

Nothing is in your mind, the psychological bearings induced by our drug use have a strict relationship with the physiological bearings. If your mind is in a good state, you can guarantee your body will be too.

Good luck

I figured the drug use had triggered something...the symptoms seem to vary. Last week I went several days in a row feeling anxious all day. I have had no major attacks yet, thank goodness. This week has been good. No anxiety and much more productive. This week I decided to eliminate piracetam from my supplement regime, so go figure. Don't know if there's any connection- can piracetam cause anxiety? :/

I've been able to use MDMA pills with no problems so far. I've also used small amounts of meth with good results until the next day...which has confirmed my decision to completely stop using meth, maybe even forever. I find myself happy without it, so what's the point in playing with my brain's health?

I'm still worried the mdma may be triggering anxiety...afterward I experience a day of feeling a bit anxious, with sleep paralysis that goes away after one day. Should I be worried or is that just a typical comedown? I never used to get these symptoms coming down off pills, but the pills I have right now are particularly potent.

Also last weekend as I was going to sleep I began to notice eye floaters appearing- a warning sign of an impending panic attack for me. I ignored them and went to sleep comfortably. I'm just worried this is a warning sign that things aren't quite right yet...

Is there a way I can still use drugs without compromising my health? I don't think I can stop completely. And so far I haven't suffered any affects that are too bad since the initial panic attack.

can piracetam cause anxiety?
It's possible, I have heard some people say it gave them anxiety, but in the majority of people it should decrease anxiety. Getting anxiety from it would be what one calls a paradoxical reaction. I would consider if there may have been other factors that could have led to you having a less anxious week.

I would try to at least reduce your drug use. It's not really possible to use recreational drugs with zero risk to your mental or physical health. Glad you are stopping meth :)
