You thought that by knowing every word I've ever used,
You'd forever know the right answer, didn't you?
You thought that by stealing my colors
My poets, My painters
You could constantly amaze and please me, right?
You thought that by growing my gardens for me,
You'd render me helpless and I'd always need you,
And you tried.
You thought that by twisting key words,
You'd steal my attention,
And I'd remain perpetually interested.
But I laughed.
And now freedom lurks before me
Teasing me with a life I've dreamt of
And know I can work toward.
A life of friendly warmth
That would kill you with your week insecurities.
A life of education that will buy me respect
you have never known possible to exist.
A life of humor, laughter and love
That comes naturally and multiplies daily.
A life of dreams coming true.
So, without my giving,
You know everything.
You have all my words and paintings.
You have my flowers and perfume.
You have my attention when you can have it.
And what good is it to you when you'll forever remain ten steps further than you think or want?
None of the two years will matter in two months,
I WILL BE FREE.
I often wonder who will have last laugh.

This reminds me of the first poem I sent you about a sunset we watched together.

Very nicely written. I would say it's as good as "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" by bob Dylan. Excellent lyrics, fantasticly descriptive and beautifully emotional.
Please keep writing for words are precious.
Congratulations on your first poem and one of the best I've ever read.
