I was out recently, noticing that far too often the conversation consists of
"Im fucked"
"What have you had"
"You look fucked"
"Reach for the lasers "
And far too often I have met people and see them out quite a few times, but rarely do we really know much about each other or what we do, and especially other interests. Other than drugs. I do have friends from here which I like to hang out with and exchange ideas and discuss things. So this is aimed at the 'aquiantances' I have at bluelight.
Hoping to get some new conversation next time I see you.
So, what do I do?
Well, I play far too many computer games. Playstation, Dreamcast and PC games.
I also run a very large monthly computer event called Shafted ( www.shafted.com.au ) where alot of nerds get together and play games competitivly. For fun, but also for cash and hardware prizes. We have accumulated many sponsors and all money goes back into the event for more things.
So yeah, I am a total computer nerd. I am a hardware engineer, so next time you see me out you can ask me... how can I fix this

Hey there.
Good call, does anybosy else find that when talking to people , wverything always ends up being about the drugs?? I find that when to talking to people about events, and clubs, and their friends and my friends it always sometimes makes it back to the drugs...
Anyway, I'm a Mechanical Engineer. I design sheetmetal working equipment, like Folders, Slitting lines, and special purpose machinery for any field.
I also enjoy playing with my car, my car stereo (which cranks by the way) and playing Gran Turismo 2 when I've got nothing else to do.
I enjoy a good 'debate' or arguement as some call it, I don't care what side I'm on as long as its civil and educated I'll be in it!
I hang with my buddies and our group is really like a family.
Maybe when we talk, it might not be about drugs. But don't get me wrong, talking about drugs is always fun too!!

I know what you're talking about. I find now that when myself and mr samadhi go out, we tend to get the shits with alot of people, because all they talk about is the price of pills, speed, blah blah, how many pills they've munched, blah blah. Drugs, and associated stuff takes up only about 5-10% of my interests...and really it is the health issues that surround drug taking...apart from that, the furtherest my interest go with actual substances is.."is it tested?...good"
As our profie states, we have too many interests to mention...but a couple are the many modalities that are included in natural sciences, making stuff, music...but not making electronica...singing, playing piano, that sorta thing...my whole family is very musical...dad is a singer, so is ma. Um, i collect records, but again, primarily not electronica...soul, funk, disco, stoned era music eg, donovan, that sorta thing...classical, soundtracks of movies from various eras, crooners, motown, oh and i have a wicked KISS collection too.
These are just the tip of the iceburg of our interests...

when your fun becomes your reality...what do you do for fun???

i am a storeman working with no intrest at all in what i do, purely money. it takes up 50 - 60 hrs a week so is the main "thing" in my physical life.
i am interested in IT and after a breif trip to the uk, i intend on pursuing that interest.
i am a guitarist and have been in a band up 'till 2 yrs ago when i moved to Melb from Perth.
i produce elecrinica music (poorly i think) on my new roland jp800 synth and on the computer. one day i wish to get somewhere with my music by combining trancey synth, beats and extremely efFected (fx pedals) guitar bits.
i have a puppy rottweiler which i love to bits named Vulpe, one of the most loved creatures in my life.
my other interest is my future and pursuing it. the rest will fall into place along the way.
oops....isn't this the resume section???

ooh. this is gonna be a huge thread! nice one pilly
smile.gif

Totally agree with whats been said, and often have to stop myself from blabing about d-rugs.
I love music, and am starting to understand the ins and outs of electronic music production. I have already studies heaps of classical and jazz and theory of music, so its a natural progression.
Other than that, travel is my newest hobby. I also love surfing (i'm burnt!) and absolutely fecken love snowboarding.
Er...hanging with friends, smoking pot and giggling our tits off. Life doesnt get much sweeter

great topic pilly!

What a great idea for a thread...
I guess I'm a little bit of a "jack of all trades". I work at a newpaper printing place in the publishing department, I work as a webmaster/webdesigner/sports writer, I'm starting to run a few parties and doing my best to pimp my ass and get known as a DJ.
When I'm not working I piss around on my decks, play playstation, play basketball (my team won the A1 Grand Final a few weeks ago) and masturbate.
And of course, like most of you, I like to party hard...

Well lets see.
At the moment I work at a deli in a certain supermarket acting as an Assistant Manager, but at the moment I'm Department Manager. It sucks
frown.gif
.
However in my spare time I like to go shopping, spend ridiculous amounts of time on my computer, travel, make jewellery, read, leeching off Napster
wink.gif
, plus lots of partying and chilling out.
My 3 ambitions in life are to
1: Travel around the world and experience life in all different cultures + see all of the attractions.
2: Become even more of a computer nerd than I already am by finishing school and going to Uni to study something in IT.
3: By living life to the fullest at every possible stage. Not letting myself have any regrets about anything
smile.gif

I work at the same place as Pekkie and have been there for far too long
smile.gif
I currently work night shift and basically just fill the shelves of the supermarket which is bloody hard work.I also study Tourism part-time which I love and have only one year left of my course.I was planning on returning to Uni this year and completing my Arts degree in Asian Studies but I have way too much on my plate and combined with night shift and already studying,I realised it was near impossible but hopefully sometime soon I will go back and complete it as that has always been the field I want to have a career in.(Funky aka Australian Diplomat-very funny shit indeed
smile.gif
) I also have various interests outside of partying. Some of these are the following:
Roller-blading
Bike-riding
Travelling-My favourite passion(it consumes me
smile.gif
)
Reading(a very close second)
Movies and videos
Collecting Cherished Teddies
Collecting all sorts of artefacts from overseas
My weekly Acupuncture and Chinese Massage visits(except for the needles near my feet-for some reason they always hurt
smile.gif
)
Aromatherapy and my facial steams-absolutely exhilerating
smile.gif

Starting Yoga and Meditation soon
smile.gif

Extreme Activities-tried Bungy Jumping and loved it although I was scared shitless and had to be pushed but still want to SkyDive(anyone care to join me?
smile.gif
)
My Flight Simulator on the computer(one day I WILL learn to fly
smile.gif
)
Tennis-Aust Open going next week and I'm a tad excited as I haven't been for a couple of years
Swimming
Better leave it there,I think I've written too much already although I could write heaps more

ummm....i'm finishing my industrial design degree this year then prolly going to italy to do another year of design study. umm at the moment i work for a design firm, unfortunately i am not a computer nerd (c; altho get me onto graphics proggies and I am... umm i am never not listening to music, and not totally electronic. if i'm really fucked off with the world i go record shopping (old school records, not tekkers) ummm i also just like designing cool furniture and shit for meself, shopping for clothes (i'm the old penetration eastland dude for anyone that cares) and ummmm kickin back wiff my awesumm mates and havin a good time (c;

Finally a topic where i have an opinion! Sort of...
Lessee...scuba diving though the diving in Melbourne sucks. Not that i've dived here. Playing pool. Also Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, GT2 and Winning 11 until my playstation got stolen...grrrr
Armchair philosophy and contemplating the belly button. Music of most sorts, would like to spin/produce but can't keep a decent beat. Interior design but can't afford the furniture. Driving and currently looking for a car with a low budget. Cooking. It's all about trial and error. Try it and you know you've erred
wink.gif
. Love dogs, would like to get a border collie sometime...if I can find a house. A regular beach bum but Torquay's too far. Kafka, Kerouac, Douglas Coupland books amongst others, Harry Potter stories. Sleeping at inappropriate times and checking out Jap chicks. Backpacking though i've only done Thailand. Would love to try surfing and snowboarding. Yes, I'm a self-absorbed shit talker. Woohoo!

Well, I'm currently just a number in the IT department at big corporate company. I punch in at about 9:30 and punch out at 5:30 - that's on good days. Othertimes they bust my balls and then pay me poorly. Whilst not being a faceless suit, I study part time at Swinny for my second degree (Business) and spend a lot of my time with my girlfriend. When I have some spare time, I play as much basketball as I can, demolish opponents on Tekken, read a lot (at the moment its the Adventures of Asterix and Obelix) and surf the web a lot.
Oh, I listen to music incessantly, whatever it may be and sing along badly if there's an audience and really well if there isn't
wink.gif

And I love too cook - but hate washing up.

Here's a little thread I started a while ago on the same sorta topic... Your hobbies...
Too braindead at the moment to repeat everything I said in that other thread, so click the link and read the first post
smile.gif

Oh yeah, best time I spent chatting with someone at a party was Earthcore Nov, and the subject of drugs made up about 2% of the conversation...

6 days a week is spent fixing sheets of plasterboard to walls, ceilings and anything else that the boss says "thats worth $???"
than the money from this pays for all the fun stuff like djing, musical equipment (the collection is growing slowly) eating as much food in as many retuarants as possible, treating mrskirk wherever possible
smile.gif

snowboarding when the snows here and travelling, near, far, its all fun, cinema and, well i think thats got most of it.
good thread pilly.

Where do i start????
Well i started to study Conservation Ecology at uni, but defered for a year to travel and take a break, but never went back, looooved the freedom too much. Decided i needed qualifications of some sort, so went and did Food & Beverage at TAFE. Got sic of that and did Retail Travel, also at TAFE. Same outcome. Am currently looking for Miss Right (after losing her a few months back to another guy), and studying IT. Am also working part-time as a kitchen hand.
I luuuurv my music, be it bangin house, to hardcore, to trance, to NRG, i luuurv it all!!! =D I also play with my car and stereo (pumpin), and do regular cruises around the city, which is my way of introducing techno to the millions.
smile.gif

My Pet Project at the moment is helping out with "93UP" a website on the history of rave culture in the SYD/CBR region from 1993 up.
Thats about it on lil old me, enjoy~

Lets see, I am a Receptionist for a Large University in Melbourne but I handle the International Students so it means I have to have a lot of patience for people that don't speak much english. Still you learn a lot about peoples cultures and beliefs. Apart from working I have a horse which is rather neglected at the moment (hasn't been riden since about May last year).
A lot of my time is spent on the internet, I am not a computer nerd as such but am addicted to IRC chat. I have a large group of friends who have all met off the net and we are like family so I am always hanging out with them too. Basically though, I just live my life the way I want to and enjoy every opportunity that I can.
