look i toughed out the past few days taking benzos soma and neurontin and am i about to be starting day four detox. i am in a cabin the the middle of louisiana doing this to get away from all sources.... most of my physical symptoms are gone.... but i mentally feel like a blur of depressedness.... i cant remember anything. not even enough to hold a conversation. i am so on edge that i am punching walls and shit.... what can i do i? have no more benzos to make me sleep it through.... i have nothing but neurontin and fiorocet...

you can wait. time heals. other than that the only remedy is more drugs. if you take more drug just make sure its not an opiate

Don't try to drug yourself to sleep: that's usually pointless for days 4-8 unless you have a decent opiate (codeine isn't enough).

is this your 1st time going through WD? My 1st time really scared me because I had no idea it was possible to suffer so badly.

I've withdrawn several dozen times since then, most times cold turkey. I'm still very afraid of it though.

Butalbital (the barbiturate in Fiorinal) is not a bad thing to have. How much do you have? Do you have tolerance to it?

I don't know how the etiology differs between oxycodone and heroin. With heroin, it seems like the 100th hour is a bit of a milestone. It looks like you may be crossing it as you say your physical symptoms have subsided.

Something to look forward to: in 1-3 days you may start feeling very energetic. Your mental fog will start to lift.

modafinil may be a good thing when you return to civilization

i guess i haven't been there, just through benzo withdrawals but ...

i suggest you motivate yourself to tough it out. I was always in search of something better, maybe u can try? Besides a different drug of course.

Ask yourself why you use and go into a deep thought out reason why you should continue to. Will it make your life better in the long run if you keep using? What steps should you take to improve your life? Do you want to improve it or keep using?

oh and you will be bored for about 6 months after, i suggest therapy or finding something to do that at least makes you semi-happy. Maybe think about dating a non-user? Maybe join the ymca or everytime you want a hit watch porn? Im running out of ideas...

Good work, day 4, probably over the hump now if its short acting opiates!

Well done! Keep it up!

P.s. sleeping pills will just make it longer till you get your normal sleeping pattern back!

Fioricet contains butalbital which is a barbiturate which should help you sleep. But like some sedatives it can increase agressiveness in some people especially if they are already feeling bad. Also gabapentin can make some peoples moods wacky so you have to watch out for that.

I have done some crazy shit during WD because im just not thinking straight. This is why i don't go through withdrawal anymore without a list of certain meds to keep me from going crazy :|

Anyway good luck to you man. After day 5 youl start to feel better physically but if youve been using for a long time you have to expect and be prepared for the PAWS. Then the real battle begins :\

You can do this!

the worst is already over, & in a couple days, you'll be feeling much better.

I did cold turkey w/d without any benzos at all, or for that matter, any type of sleep meds, unless you count chamomile tea. Since you have/have access to sleep meds, you ought to use them judiciously to get yourself a little rest & respite from the w/d symptoms. When it feels like you are about to jump out of your own skin is the time to use a little bit of whatever you have left. You don't want to get yourself another addiction, though, so I would use sparingly.

There is light & life at the end of this tunnel. When it is all said & done, you will feel an enormous sense of accomplishment, & you will have your life back. No more worrying about supply, money, connects--your life will be your own again.

Keep us updated as to how you are doing, OK?

And, hang in there! It does get better, & you are going to feel great!
