So we're talking about everything and not just humans? Fair enough then.
We are talking about humans but I think it has some relevance.... the universe has cycles and rules on all levels from univeral to planetary to celular to human. Who is to say conciousness is not any more suseptable to those rules than the planet on which our conciousness seems to reside.
We too often think of our conciousness as something sperate from the real world. But I believe that conciousness came from the same place that the "real world" came from, wether it be the big bang singularity or otherwise.
The universe expands and contracts
Gravity pulls things in and keeps things out
We speed up, we slow down.
Day turns into night and night turns to day.
We are born and then we die (and maybe born again)
why would our conciousness not be exposed to these same seemingly universal laws of cylicity (is that a word??)
Keeping that in mind that our minds have been bombarded with these cyclic patterns in nature from the very start of evolution. We know them intimately, they are programed in to our very core... I do not think it is too much of a stretch to say that our conciousness seeks to follow these same patterns...
the tricky part is working out wether our conciousness seeks an active achievable goal or if it is just an illusion created by these other observed cycles.
