TUMACO, Colombia - From an army base near the town of Llorente, General Mauricio Zabala leads the hunt for Colombia's most wanted man.
On a map outside his office, the grainy photos of various villains plaguing the region are pinned. From guerrillas to paramilitaries to cartel chiefs, they're all here, complete with aliases - "Gustavo," "Pablito," "Sandro" and "Puya," to name a few.
One mugshot shows a young man who gave up on the country's historic 2016 peace process, and returned determinedly to war. To anyone watching Colombia in recent months, his is a familiar face.

An Ecuadorian national who once fought with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC, Guacho has become the bogeyman looming over post-conflict Colombia.
