Im currently prescribed 12mg/day of suboxone among other things and my health insurance just crapped out. What is the cheapest form of bupe out there? I've heard subutex is cheaper but the pharmacist told me otherwise. Does anyone know the cheapest form of bupe i can talk my doctor into? I have read online that they're generic forms of suboxone but, Im not sure weather doctors will work with prescribe them. And anyone ever prescribed subs knows how expensive it is...

I really need some help from someone with similar experiences.

There are generics for both the subutex and suboxone tablets, but not the films. The subutex generic runs in the [less than 200] dollar range for 45 tabs and suboxone generic around [twice] for the same amount. There are also discount cards you can get for free that could save you a few bucks as well. Many doctors do prefer the films for various reasons, but lets face it, if you cannot afford your medicine, you wont take it and any doctor should be willing to work with you on this. Feel free to pm me as I may be able to give you more specifics.

Reckitt bensicker has a patient assistance program where you can get it free for one year if you qualify.
I did it. Was pretty easy to go through asnd only took a couple of days for my answer.
Go to heretohelp.com for a phone number and call them. They were very generous to me.
Hope this helps.

ask your doctor for a suboxone copay card!! with insurance, my suboxone costed me $50 to buy at the pharmacy. with the card i got my suboxone completely free!!!

depending on if you have insurance, it should cover a good chunk of your suboxone.

I PMed you because there's no price discussion, even if it's a prescribed medication (as far as I know). I pay out of pocket for my bupe, and the Subutex generic plus the coupon from GoodRX is really affordable. I would also look at tapering down a little, 8mg a day is a lot cheaper monthly.

We don't allow price discussion because it's regionally dependent.

Ask your pharmacist and doctor if there's ways to ease the financial burden of your prescriptions. Generic buprenorphine is probably the way to go if you can't get some sort of subsidy like the copay card or, i dunno, coupons or something.

Hello there, I switched to subutex because of the cheaper cost (my doctor was fine with switching me over, Ive been in good standing with him for a few years) and I also get it discounted further with www.goodrx.com . Use it, you will save alot of money my friend..

This program often can provide significant savings on medications for those with out insurance or when insurance does not cover certain medications. I used it an was really happy with it. It does not provide access to the medications, so this is not sourcing, it just provides a coupon you hand to the specific pharmacy. I was looking at a pretty significant savings the first time so I thought this must be total bullshit. But every time I used it I received exactly what the coupon stated with no hassle at all so I would check into it. Just put in the medication and it will show what price is available at different pharmacies.. Then just pick a pharmacy and print the coupon off.

Also since you lost you health insurance I would visit the gov heath website and see what you qualify for as depending on your situation you may be eligible for reduced or free health care;)

Hope this helps

EDIT: ha Itchy hit it on the head already

Actually I was way ahead of you both ;P

I started with suboxone tabs, then went to the films, now am currently taking subutex generic because there there is no such thing as brand name subutex anymore (unless you get the injectables). I have been on for 2+ years and I started with paying $x a pop for the orange tabs, then $x a pop for the sub lingual films, then when I was prescribed straight buprenorphine(Subutex)..which once you are prescribed opens a whole array of opportunity to get the pill that works for you and is in your price range. I started paying $x each for the generic roxys, and then moved to the hi-tech brand which was only $x a piece(significantly weaker for some reason...shitty potency???) Now since i have insurance through BCBS at my work I pay $x for 60 tabs of either. So being that I have had a ton of experience in switching and pricing because I used to pay cash per pill....I highly recommend getting the generic roxy's at $x a piece and the price goes down as you add to your order (For Example: if you want 10 you'll probably only pay $x($x a piece) and they are way stronger than the hi-tech brand(the small white round ones with an arrow on one side and an 8 on the other)...I also HIGHLY RECOMMED using KMART pharmacy because they have a discount program and rewards points program called (shop your way rewards)...the discount program you pay $x A YEAR for a reduced price on your prescriptions and the rewards program gives you points towards each purchase and before i knew it i was getting like 10-15 free pills every other month. They also give you bonus points during holidays... i remember during one christmas i got like 10,000 points and received a dozen tabs FREE....HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
