I was wondering if anyone else here is inot Old-Time Radio. About 2-4 times a year, I go on an OTR kick and listen rabidly for a couple weeks and then my interest dips. I enjoy Amos and Andy, The Shadow, and other goofy stuff.
Recently I've been really into Lux Radio Theater which did one hour radio plays of popular movies of the day. Often with the original cast.

After that Brando Classic is my favorite online OTR station. BBC 7 has a lot of good stuff but technically is not OTR.

I was kind of torn as to what place to put this thread. Here, non-electronic music, and words. But I figured OTR was the pre-cursor of television so here it went.

I too like old time radio. I started listening at a job I had where I got to listen to the radio all day and got tired of stations looping the same songs. I really like some of the relatively 'newer' stuff like Dragnet and Twilight Zone, but I also like the shadow and the Whistler. I like on XM 'radio classics' they have some good stuff

"it safe to leave house and go to the store allah ouwet"

For newer stuff, BBC 7 kicks ass. Apparently radio drama never died with the advent of TV in Britain like it did in the states.
My favorite BBC 7 show is "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again" which had a pre-Monty Python John Cleese writing and narrating. There's also a lot of great sci-fi stuff. I usually listen to the "listen again" features than stream it live.
Highly recommended.
