Here's my situation. I'm (kinda) trying to taper off subs. I'm still @ 1-2 mg /day but really want to go to just one mg tmrw. Also I'm addicted to Klonopin. I wind up taking about 6-10 mg/day. I wish to make a taper schedule for both, but I didn't stick to the first sub taper so thats not encouraging.8(

Those issues are bad, but it does go on. On Friday, I totaled my BF's car. And I have no liscense. And I'm an excluded driver on the policy. And my BF has $100,000 in student loans so we need to come up with $485/month to get him out of default. AND-- in order to get financed for a car we need to come up with $1000. SO I guess I'm asking where you all would start/what you would do/, how have you overcome some bad situations, etc.

Thanks for reading and Ill be looking forward to replies.

Trychomes,

Hi there, I am a little confused as to what exactly you are looking for advise to? The taper? The $$$ issues? The BF? All of the above? Honestly, I am not sure where you are looking for advice, and I do not want to steer you the wrong way. Can you please be a little more specific?

Regardless of how this post starts, I most certainly wish you the best, and I would love to offer some words of support if I knew where to offer them :)

All my best!

When your whole world seems like it is caving in at once, the best thing to do is to let go of everything you cannot control and focus on what you can. In terms of the financial woes, could you take on more work? The student loan business is as heinous as the mortgage debacle but without getting into a rant about the policies I would just try to work out the best deal with the lender and then cut corners in my expenses, take a second job, sell off anything I could, change my living situation to something cheaper--whatever it takes. As far as the car goes, is there any way to get by without one for a while? Most Americans will say no right off the bat but think what you save in not paying insurance, fuel, etc. If there is any way you could bike or take public transportation for even a few months, that would probably give you the $$ you need to pay the student loans right there. Sometimes this really isn't feasible but it is worth a look.

More than anything, I wish you luck with your tapers. Needless to say, the rest of this pales in comparison to your physical and mental health. Good luck with those and with everything else---it won't be easy but the loans and the car eventually will be resolved. <3

Get off the clonazepam first. That is a lot harder than getting off sub. Worry about sub detox later. Klonopin detox, especially at that daily dose, will take you months. Talk to a doctor about a proper taper plan. Possibly look into getting prescribed a beta blocker to lower you blood preassure will doing so.
