First off, theirs tons and tons of threads already on this kind of topic. Just search mixing klonopin and alcohol even on google you'll find plenty of much more detailed information.
If this was your first time taking it, i don't recommend drinking on it, if you were to drink on it i would wait a week or two till your body is a little used to the tolerant.
I am prescribed klonopin 1mg twice a day about 5 months ago, and i was and still am able to drink on it after a few weeks of being on it, and believe it or not I do not get any more messed up than i normally would like most people do. I go to the bar a few times a week for the past few months, and realized that if you take the klonopin as prescribed and want it to stay working, it's best to skip doses here and their especially when drinking alcohol.
The reason i say that is because, alcohol is the one of the only few drugs that targets anxiety on the GABA receptors like the klonopin. So if you drink often with them, your brain will become used to having way more GABA being released from the klonopin and then also from the alcohol. SO in the long run if you do it frequently, your klonopin will not work as well for you, just a warning.
---Lastly, although klonopin does not affect my alcohol buzz by anything more, it does for most people so some signs to look out for if you do it are, slurred speach, feeling more tired, more confident/less anxious, real sleepy (this combo can make you black out without much warning as well which most people would report as one of the most common side effect of mixing klonopin or any benzo with alcohol).
A long time ago, when i wasn't on meds, i decided to take 2 xanax bars my first time (4mg) and i wasn't feeling it, so i took ONE sip of alcohol and was unconscious for 14 hours (i basically fell in deep sleep and wouldn't wake up) and i still felt real fucked up after coming back into consciousness, it was a crazy experience so caution is always advised.
