Ok its summer time meaning lots of people wanna go to vegas! So how about posting some of the good places to party, stay, days to go, and stuff like that in here?
Vegas rules so there is tons of stuff to do!
  • Weekends are the best days to be in vegas if you wanna check out the clubs. Thursday - Sunday/Monday is perfect for me but plan on traffic if you are driving outta there anytime on Sunday.
  • Things to check out: the botanical gardens at the Bellagio are amazing, there is a wine cellar in the Rio that has wine tastings, if you are traveling in a big group a limo can be cheaper than a cab, and visit a strip club (The Crazy Horse II was an interesting adventure even for me who only likes men)
  • Drinking on the street is awesome
  • Nicer hotels don't always mean nicer rooms just more expensive but staying on the strip is much easier and more fun sometimes the closer you are to the middle of the strip the better because cab fees suck and walking gets ya there faster sometimes (I have stayed at the the Holiday Inn as well as the Jockey Club and both were just as nice as the other places and were a lot cheaper)

Here are some things other people have suggested in previous threads:
  • Went to Drai's a few weeks ago and although I liked it, it was very much a scene. I am going back to Vegas with a few other guys at the end of August who are in to a little bit of a scene but maybe not as much as Drai's. We love pretty girls (without attitudes) and people who are fun loving and like to say hi!
  • So, what should you do in Vegas? Good question. Well, there's always Club Utopia. They play good stuff, it's not too much of a scene and it's close to pretty much everything. What else? The other cool place I found in Vegas was Club Ra, Sunday nights. It was Hip-Hop night, which is always fun to boogie your ass off to, so it was a nice atmosphere. The only complaint from when I went was that the DJs were annoying as hell and they would try to "MC" over the music at least 25% of the time, saying that same stupid cliche crap - "LA in house, LV in the house, uhh uhh." It was okay though, just put your head down and shake your shit.
  • Thursday: Rain (the Palms) or Baby's (Hard Rock). Both have a dress code, you need to look like a clubber, not a raver. Probably don't allow glow sticks or photon lights. Probably a lot of people on coke rather than rolling (and most people just drinking, since it is a weeknight).
  • Friday: Ra (Luxor). Sometimes brings in really good talent on Fridays. Regardless, there's not much else going on in Vegas on Fridays except for various hip-hop nights.
  • Saturay: Club Utopia (depending on talent that night), which has no dress code, no attitude, lots of non-vip seating and a cool patio. Or Carbon @ C2K (in the Venetian), which has a slight dress code (like no visors/baseball caps). It's only been going on for a month or two , but it is said to have a good vibe.
  • After hours (other than Drai's) on Fri. & Sat. would probably be GLO, 4am - noon.
  • Others: Curve in the London Club @ Aladdin I heard is pretty nice (I think it is Fri & Sat). And Glam in Planet Holleywood @ Caesar's is interesting, though I didn't care for the music, too mainstream. And Hush @ Polo Tours (with a rooftop pool and jacuzzi) throws various promotions on different nights, I can never keep track which.~psychoblast~
  • I have been to Carbon @C2K acouple of times now and while it had a smaller crowd it also had a better feel to it (friendlier people, less dress code, affordable drinks).
  • Sun.: Light @ Bellagio (not many people rolling, mainstream music rather than house or techno, but still gets crowded with beautiful people).
  • Mon.: Seven Tues (early):Skin" pool-side party @ the Palms.
  • Tues (evening): Eden promotion @ Studio 54 in the MGM Grand (lots of people rolling at this)
  • Tues. (after hours): GLO @ The Hop. Haven't heard much about this day because it just started a month or two ago, but this is the best after hours on weekends.
  • Wed (early): "Pink" pool-side party @ Hard Rock Hotel. Wed (evening):Pleasuredome promotion @ Ra in the Luxor (often has big-name DJ's).
  • Others to check out:Eden and Pleasuredome are very roller-friendly. Pleasuredome generally has the better music/dj's.~psychoblast~
Hope that this helps everyone and makes it easier to get instant information rather than posting and waiting for replies :)

I just came back from a weekend that turned into a week plus in Vegas.
Here are my picks:
Sunday: Light at the Bellagio then Drai's at Barbery Coast. Very crowded and hard to get in, lie and say you are on the guest list, you might get picked out of line and a pass instead of paying the $20 Cover. Full of beautiful people.
Monday: Save your self and gather energry for the rest of the week. (Try Crazy Horse Too, interesting place. Plus, this is coming from someone who has never been a fan of Strip Clubs)
Tuesday: More of a Bar night, check out Ghost Bar. Cool place, great view, cool crowd.
Wed. Ra then Drai's.
Thurs. Downtime for me sorry no info. But, avoid Ra unless you like hanging with gang bangers.
Fri: Curves at the Aladdin then Drai's, just make sure you meet someone at Curves you is a local or connected or you'll waste half of the morning in line. I found the crowd at Curves very friendly. If you are really into taking your braincells on an extended vacation go to GLO's after Drai's. I did not. Also, beware the outrageous drink prices in Vegas post September 11th. Ra also has good stuff on Friday's
Sat: Curves again.
Also, Luxor seems to have really good deals right now even on the weekends.
So now my question, does anyone know of a place to have a good time in San Diego?
I just now coming off an 8 year reltionship, er, marriage, and I am looking to enjoy myself.

New club called "Dream" on Saturday nights in Vegas, supposed to be amazing set up, haven't been to it yet.
Some rumor C2K is closing, but manager says it's just a rumor.
And if you want to party in Vegas on Monday go to Rumjungle or Seven.

There's a new after hours on Saturdays (well, Sunday morning) at 4am at Jaguars, which is a plush new strip club. So you have strippers and house/techno and a dance area. I'm probably going to check it out tonight.
~psychoblast~

Jaguars is located at Desert Inn and Valley View, away from the strip.
One more thing to do here is to go to AJ's pub, it's a local peoples hang out, they spin GOOD music there, sometimes people showing off some cool dancing, differents dj's trying out the turntables. Mondays and Thursdays, I think Mondays draw a bigger crowd right now. AJ's is at 3650 S Decatur, I think the crossteet is Spring. You can call 702 3677201 for more info.

There is a monthly event called re:cess that is supposed to be pretty stark, warehousy, undergroundish and 18+. The first one was Aug. 3, so the next one may be Labor Day weekend.
There are some all ages concert venues.
The under 21 rave website for vegas, eternalbeats.net, has been down for a month or so, it was the best place to find info. on under 21 activities and raves.
There is another rave coming up called ONE or something like that, I think on Saturday, Aug. 24. I may hit that.

Re:cess @ Sin... omg... the first one was REALLY good, straight dirty basslines of techno that took my breath away. I'm on their mailing list, so as soon as I get wind of any other Re:cess's, I'll be sure to post here ASAP.
And that's about it for those of us 18-20. Unless you have a fake ID.
EDIT: E-Beats has been down, yes, BUT the messageboard is still going strong: http://64.91.236.87/boards/index.php

Great Thread!
It's my friend's first time to Vegas (we're going in 2 weeks) so I want to impress her with a impressive Club Sat. night Oct. 26th that plays great trance/techno. SO EXCITED to be in Vegas again after a year!
I've read everything everyone has had to say in this thread. I was just wondering since it's been 3+ months since anyone's posted about the Vegas club scene if anything has changed.
Has C2K picked up? Is it a great place to go for a SATURDAY NIGHT?
What about CURVE? I didn't see much about it above. Is it great for a SAT. NIGHT? What is it like? Does it have a lot of laser lights and high energy and such? How bout C2K?
I think I want to check out Drai's for sure this visit. I didn't make it there last time. What is the best time to get to Drai's without having to wait in line? If you get there right at Midnight, will you be the only people there?
Last year I went to Utopia on a Sat. and Ra on a Friday. They were cool, but want to try something different.
Its looking like we're trying to decide between Baby's, Curves, C2K and Drai's (again - for a Sat. night). We're Dallas club girls, so we're not concerned about dress code. We want an energetic scene and great lights and lots of dancing. Any advice you could give for which is best for a Sat. night would be GREAT!!! THANKS!
-Renee

I dunno about dance clubs, but PixieGirl was talking about strip clubs and mentioned The Crazy Horse Too a couple times. Now I used to think this club was the shiznittle, and it actually was top-notch for a while, but now I have seen the light. If you are looking for a gentleman's club that scores a 10 on the strip-scale, pay a visit to The Spearmint Rhino. Cover is like 10 bucks, all the dance prices are the same as everywhere else, and the girls there.....98% of em are drop-dead gorgeous and the other 2% are pretty damn good for being the black sheep. The atmosphere is a lot classier than anywhere else, there is a really good vibe there, and it usually makes for an all around good time....even at 5 in the morning on a Sunday morning. So check it out....and let us know what you think.

Clubs over Halloween Weekend:
10/24:
Baby's @ the Hard Rock: Sander Klienberg.
10/25:
Ra @ Luxor: That Kid Chris - TKC
10/26:
Utopia: "For the first time in four years, ROBERT O and THE FUNKLER share the Stage with JAMES LUMB (a.k.a. ELECTRIC SKYCHURCH) as they bring to the Utopia stage legendary vocalist ROXANNE MORGANSTERN. Audiences will be treated to the harmonious merger of JAMES' and ROXANNE'S vocals accomanied by keyboards, synthesizers and sequencers blended into an "ELECTRO-DUET". The "ELECTRO DUET" tour is an up-tempo, live experience that blends classic and unrealsed SKYCHURCH material." I also heard Utopia may remodel before then, and this night is sort of an attempted "rebirth" so it may really be cool. And this will be a halloween party, so probably a good number of people will be in costume.

Rain @ the Palms...I hate this place, hate the vibe, the layout, the music, the lighting, the bathroom situation... But it is "in" if that matters to you, totally, amazingly, ridiculously long line to get in on Fri. night.
----------
After hours for Fri. or Sat.:
Drai's: After hours, lines at 2am, big lines at 3am. At midnight it will be pretty empty. Maybe try 1:30am or so to avoid the line, beat most of the crowd, but not wait too long for it to fill up. Drai's is also open Fri. after hours, and the line is somewhat smaller.
Alesium Afterhours @ Seven: The "new" hot and classy after hours.
Glo @ the Hop: The down and dirty after hours till noon the next day. Lots of tweakers, generally pretty fun.
OTHER INFO:
Haven't heard much about C2K...plays top 40s crap till after 1am, then the music gets better and, on that particular weekend, it'll probably be crowded. Haven't heard of any special djs anywhere except those listed above. The Venetian has some other lounges that are pretty much always okay to hang out in, like the Velvet Lounge, Venus and the V Bar.
For strip clubs, I wasn't impressed by Spearmint. Just too small. And Crazy Horse Too is just bloodsuckers, money-hungry girls...really has a dirty vibe to it. I'd stick with Cheetah's. Doesn't always have the most 9's & 10's, but there are always some. Has the coolest seating and the best vibe. Lots of couples, women, there on weekend late nights just having fun, treating it like an after hours. If you really want "hot" girls, go to Club Paradise or Jaguars (Jaguars may still be having a Sat. night after hours at 4am).
Okay, my personal plan for this weekend will probably be as follows:
Thurs: Baby's
Fri.: Ra, Olympic Garden (another strip club that has started an after hours. Haven't checked it out yet, so this is my chance).
Sat.: Utopia, Alyseum, and then Glo.

PsychoBlast! Thanks for your reviews.
I appreciate the tip on Drai's. We will try and get there around 1:00-1:30 to avoid the line. But what's good to do just before that? Perhaps we'll try out Spearmint or Cheeta's. Not completely sure if we'll want to spend the money on a titty bar or not if there's better stuff to do. Don't get me wrong, I agree it would be an experience to hit one of the Vegas ones, but not 100% sure if my girlfriend will feel the same. teehee.
Will there be any problem getting into Drai's if we're already rolling pretty hard? Don't know if we want to wait until 1:30am to begin, but who knows.
Are there any places that plays great trance music that starts early like around 10pm on a Saturday?
If we just decide to go to Drai's on Saturday then we'll have to check someplace else out on Friday. Is Utopia hopping relatively early on a Friday? I don't think we'll do the "after hours" thing friday night. What else besides RA is good for a Friday night dancing (not too late)?
Oh, and thanks for the advice about C2K, we won't check it out if it's top 40.
-Katie
