Also BLM protests have been happening in every major city in the country pretty much and the vast majority of them have been peaceful. Plus the reason for it is to try to make a stand against an oppressed group and take down monuments to confederates who were fighting to keep slavery. Whereas this was an attack on capitol hill with the intent to overthrow the government and kill members of the congress. Really not the same thing.

I condemn the violence that happened at some BLM protests, for sure. I don't condemn the whole movement though. I do condemn the movement to try to overthrow the government to install a leader who lost the election, though, yes. I don't condemn everyone who was there to protest, even if I think they're misguided, they believe they are fighting a just cause, and they have a right to protest.

Maybe if the major points in conservative memes were discussed in more detail instead of relying on the cheap widespread misinformation that a meme can haphazardly provide, they would have a had a chance.

However if a meme is solely used to hide the fact that it's purely misinformation and thus cannot be discussed in a civil manner, it truly is part of the downfall and schism of the right.

if capitalism is so good and socialism is so bad, then why isn't the caravan heading to venezuela
ok aside from the minor point that Cuba is socialist and like way more successful than vz (despite still kinda sucking)

these are mostly legit refugees. if you're an "economic" migrant, which is to say, an able-bodied young man, you don't need to travel in a caravan. you're probably better off alone or in a small group so you can move faster and avoid detection. these caravan migrants don't want jobs, they want police.

The Dems are not going to seriously try to get rid of “MTG” if they have any clue, which I think they do in this regard.

Perhaps the better question is if the Reps are capable of replacing her. Serious doubt exists. Less because she is unmovable, and more because as a general rule the Reps are pretty damn ineffective even if they can decide what they want.

Some fans of RATM seem confused as to which machine the rage is against. Anarchist Tom Morello clears things up. And for those who think celebrities should stay out of politics: a) What about Trump? and b) Morello has a political science degree at Harvard

An anarchist who sits on a $30 million dollar mountain of cash.
Keep raging against that corporate machine , Tom!

Tbf if I were in his position I would see to it that I wouldn't need to work again a day in my life. But besides that, there's of course a lot of places where that money would be better spent

Some wealthy people actually use their wealth to help others, in which case, isn't that where we should want the wealth that exists to be distributed to?

I don't know if it's the case with Tom Morello, just saying. Someone being wealthy doesn't necessarily mean they're a hypocrite for fighting against the machine.

The fact of the matter is that, in capitalism, having no money means you have little power. If you want to do something good for society, it helps to have money. It wouldn't make anything any better for him to throw all his money away. And why should he?

It doesn't make sense for an anarchist to hoard that much money. They should be supporting the cause and using their record sales for some other reason than mansions and flying jets.

Well, he's won humanitarian awards, so it seems like he's doing something with his money (ie, his power). And their latest tour, they gave 100% of ticket sales to charities and activist organizations within each city where the tickets were sold.

During this period Chumbawamba gained some notoriety over several controversial incidents, starting in August 1997 when Nutter was quoted in the British music paper Melody Maker as saying, "Nothing can change the fact that we like it when cops get killed."[14] The comment was met with outrage in Britain's tabloid press and was condemned by the Police Federation of England and Wales.[15] The band resisted pressure from EMI to issue an apology and Nutter only clarified her comment by stating, "If you're working class they won't protect you. When you hear about them, it's in the context of them abusing people, y'know, miscarriages of justice. We don't have a party when cops die, you know we don't."[15]

In January 1998 Nutter appeared on the American political talk show Politically Incorrect and advised fans of their music who could not afford to buy their CDs to steal them from large chains such as HMV and Virgin, which prompted Virgin to remove the album from the shelves and start selling it from behind the counter.[16]

A few weeks later, provoked by the Labour government's refusal to support the Liverpool Dockworkers' Strike, the band performed "Tubthumping" at the 1998 BRIT Awards with the lyric changed to include "New Labour sold out the dockers, just like they'll sell out the rest of us", and vocalist Danbert Nobacon later poured a jug of water over UK Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, who was in the audience.[7]

In the late 1990s, the band turned down $1.5 million from Nike to use the song "Tubthumping" in a World Cup advertisement.[17] According to the band, the decision took approximately "30 seconds" to make.

In the EA Sports soccer game World Cup 98, the song "Tubthumping" is one of the soundtrack titles.

In 2002, General Motors paid Chumbawamba a sum of either $70,000 or $100,000, to use the song "Pass It Along" from the WYSIWYG album, for a Pontiac Vibe television advertisement in 2002. Chumbawamba gave the money to the anti-corporate activist groups Indymedia and CorpWatch who used the money to launch an information and environmental campaign against GM.[18][19]

These guys were the real anarchist musicians ;)
