Watch the video. It wasn't until it looked like he was trying to get something out of his car that the officer fired on him. They had ample time to shoot him while he was walking towards the driver's side door if they had wanted to.

exactly, which was my reasoning for saying he didn't have a knife in his hands back when that was the narrative. I just don't see why you allow him to make it inside his car door in the first place if you're THAT scared.
