Ok, I haven't really looked up Aus amphetamine prescription drugs: A) Cuz im not ADD or ADHD
B) Because Iam not fat!

Don't you all find it odd that Americans class Methamphetamines on their Class A Drug act, however diet pills etc... are legal. Buy Meth thru infomercial! Pretty Kool!

the USA lists Methamphetamine on Schedule II, which means that it may be prescribed, though for severely restricted circumstances. Schedule I means it cannot be prescribed.

Diet pills don't have methamphetamine in. Some (like Xenical) block the absorption of fat. Others work on serotonin/dopamine in the CNS to make your body think it's full, but don't release dopamine, i.e no high.

No Amphetamine will ever be legal full stop. Imagine john howard running the legal distribution of mdma. Government are too old fashioned.

Everytime this discussion comes up time and time again everyone cries that legalising MDMA will make things 'safer' since it's more controlled and more pure.

But what everyone alwasy forgets is what about the people that abuse the substance? What about the moron who goes "Well if it's legal then it must be safe so I'll eat 5 pills at once." Like with your local whale that eats a tub a KFC while smoking a pack of cigs, these people will require medical attention. This puts a huge load on our already failing health system. This is why governments will never make MDMA legal, yet it will remain in this quasi-legal state for a long time to come. Maybe even the decriminalisation will spread, but never the full legalisation.
