New Scientist 22/4/02 - "Ecstacy- How Dangerous is it really?"

Is there anywhere i could find any information on australian death rates from usage of different drugs? seeing that there is a much higher rate of death from anti-depressants than ecstasy (in the UK) then shouldnt scientists be paying more attention to antidepressants which affect serotonin too?
Andromeda :)

Andromeda: keep in mind that most people on antidepressants are or have been depressed. So, many of those deaths could have been deliberate overdoses. SSRI's are not particularly toxic in OD, but the older antidepressants like tricyclic's are lethal in OD. One box of some of the tricyclic's would probably kill you. I don't know where you'd find those stats - you could try the Coroner's Court as a starting point though.
