For starters I am a Chronic Pain Patient here in the United States, I live in Massachusetts and have currently been prescribed Opiate Pain medications for the past 7 years due originally from injuries received from 2 car accidents in a 3 week period. First Accident I was stopped for a guy crossing the road in a marked crosswalk and some fool who was distracted didn't realize traffic was stopped and plowed into me from behind doing 35 - 40 mph. Then 3 weeks later as I was going down a back country road I had to swerve out of the way going around a curve in the road as a motorcycle with some guy and his wife swerved into my lane forcing me to dodge them and I hit a tree head on doing about 45 mph. From these accidents I ended up with 3 ruptured and 2 herniated disks in my lower back plus Sciatica, In my upper back 6 herniated and wedging disks, And 4 herniated disks in my neck with more then a few compressed nerve roots, spinal stenosis, spurs, schmorl nodes ect. In 2009 Pain Management talked me into getting a procedure done where they did epidural injections to my neck which did not help at all and only made matters about 100x worse as I lost all tactile sensation in not only both my hands but both of my feet which felt cold to the touch to others but felt as if they were burning on fire 24/7 to me, They then started swelling up changing color turning dark red / purplish and having uncontrollable spasms. On top of all this I was blacking out all the time. the doctors think that this could be CRPS - Complex Regional Pain Syndrome going in for testing in 2 weeks to confirm. They also found out in my MRI's that I have Scheuermanns Disease in my upper back which causes excruciating back pain which shoots both up and down your back and into your neck (for me feels like i am being stabbed between the spine and shoulder blade by a burning electrical sword that is being twisted around and around) Now I have gone through physical therapy more time then i can count and we found that with the right combination and dosage of medications they were able to get my pain levels down to where I could actually get out of bed / off the couch and not be stuck in the house all the time after they got the dosages set it allowed me to live a more functional life and have a much higher quality of living also. I have been on Fentanyl Patches 150 mcg for the past 5 years for round the clock pain and on Oxycodone for break through pain 30mg 5 times per day = 150mg total per day. Now last month we had the New CDC Guidelines come out which tell the doctors they should not prescribe above the equivalent of 120mg morphine and when i went in to pick up my prescriptions my doctor said he is being forced by management of the medical group to taper down any patients who are on dosages higher then the new limits so he was being forced to cut me down from 150mcg Fentanyl Patches down to only 50mcg Fentanyl Patch and that for my Oxycodone he was going to have to reduce me from 150mg total per day (30mg @ 5 times per day) down to 80mg daily total (20mg @ 4 times per day) He said that he could NOT send me to pain management for a pain consult to get confirmation and the documentation needed to keep e on my the dosage I have been on for over 5 years because management will not let them prescribe higher then the new guidelines no matter what. He said he would try to get a referral to a pain specialist he knows who is Not connected with his medical group and have him take over my prescriptions. But when I called the doctors office they said they do not take over writing prescriptions for primary care doctors (I also called around to every pain management clinic listed and found out none of them here prescribe my pain medications at all no matter what that all they do are injections and alternate therapies combined with non narcotic medications of which we have already tried pretty much everything on the market in the past) So now I am stuck waiting to see this pain specialist who is most likely not going to take over prescribing my medications and will only perform a consult to which my primary care doctors hands have been tied in following the recommendation of. I have already contacted a lawyer in regards to this it is discrimination as I am disabled and have the medical documentation already in place. I do not have the option of just getting a new doctor as the majority of practices and doctors across the state have instituted the policy of not prescribing opiate medications no matter what now thanks to pressure from the DEA, Media and politicians who do not give a single fuck about those suffering with chronic pain who do not abuse there medications. I have never had a dirty drug test and have never been short my pills when called in for a count. I am also trying to find out about these online sites you see where they claim they can sell you your pain medications online without a prescription and they ship via fed ex / ups next day. Are these legit or just another scam out there to take advantage of those either trying to get them for recreational purposes or like myself who are suffering from chronic pain. Has anyone had experiences with these online companies where they have actually come through and been legit in what they claim to be selling such as my type of medications ??? Sorry for the wall of text by the way just dealing with a very frustrating situation atm where looks like i am going to be forced back into not being able to function any where near as well as i have been for the past 5 years very soon ..........lol

:) Hello and WELCOME. So sorry that you suffer with chronic pain. I do, too. There is a pain management thread you might feel comfortable with. You are not alone in this!

Thank you I will check it out, I have joined a number of chronic pain groups on facebook also and have been trying to find help with information as looking at a potential lawsuit due to the medical group my doctor is part of and there new policy which follows the dosage limit guidelines but refuses to follow the procedures to protect those with chronic pain who need to be on the higher dosages.
