New in a lot of ways..

I consider myself an Atypical user..
Married, professional career, college graduate, son through college. Yet here I am struggling with substances.
My wife is disabled and its led to a lot of loneliness and depression.
I've also always been fascinated with the bad guy and girl lifestyle.. smokers turn me on.. women on drugs.. forget about it.
When the situation presented itself about 18 months ago.. I jumped at the chance to give Meth a shot.. literally. I did a lot of research and introduced myself to the needle and this heavenly poison.
I've never felt so many sensations. Its indescribable.
So I purchase infrequently.. in low amounts.. treat myself when the time is right. I last went 9 months without using, and this past weekend went through 1.5 grams in 2.5 days.
I'm hear to learn.. heal.. get advice. Thanks and I hope to share more if anyone cares to listen.

Hey man, i used to shoot meth as well, and it is quite a sensation, but it makes the sober life wicked hard to deal with. Once i got off it, and found pleasure in other people, work, video games etc. my libido started to come back.. my happiness started to become more constant instead of depending on a shot.. and life in general really picked up.

The way my therapist sees it, is, do i want to be "antisocial" right now, for short gain? Or do i want to become a success in my career, THEN be antisocial in minor ways with more money, lol.

She's basically asking if i want to smoke meth and crack and be an addict today or become a CEO and do the casual lines of coke. She understands i love drugs.

Not to say you should continue using after you're a "success" (if you're not already), but if you can have the power to withhold and moderate.. that's a very useful skill!
