Our partnership with MAPS has demonstrated the value of open communication between the drug research, and user communities, and has demonstrated the need for a permanent base for discussion. The Drug Studies forum is a platform where drug related scientific and sociological studies and surveys can be discussed. With this in mind, we would like to open our community to the research community as a base to draw it's data from.
Additionally, we'll serve to increase awareness of the various studies ongoing at any given time, as well as a launch pad for new projects and partnerships between other organizations and academic institutions.
The forum is structured such that the current studies are moderated. This means new studies or comments can be submitted but will not appear until being reviewed and approved by a forum moderator. Part of this is to keep the listing of current studies to a limited list of verified and approved studies. The other is to keep from biasing any potential candidates with questions or concerns about the study. Researchers are encouraged to register and control how their study is presented, and to follow up by sharing their findings with the membership.
We've also created a sub-forum for studies which have concluded, as a place for open discussion (non-moderated posting) of the studies and the results. This is intended to provide a wider spectrum of feedback for future researchers on how their studies are received by their subjects and hopefully lead to improved testing methods in the future. All the while, this collection will build a library of the research projects we've assisted with, to serve as a reference for anyone looking to learn more about drug use or clinical studies of drugs and their effects. To jump start the forum, we've moved research threads from various forums across the site to this one location, so they may appear a little rough around the edges. Going forward we intend to provide a professional environment for open discussion of these topics.
