What albums that have been released this year are you digging so far?
Any potential albums of the year for you yet?
What albums are you looking forward to in 2014?

Post some recommendations, some new singles, tour dates, all that fun stuff.

So far this year I've been getting into Chad VanGaalens newest release "Shrink Dust." It's a little slower than I expected but it's typical Chad fashion if you're a fan of him you're bound to love it.
And I'm also bumping the new album by The War On Drugs - Lost in the Dream. Has a very nice sound to it. I've loved all of their releases so far. I'm noticing they're finally gaining some traction and getting popular, it's almost time for me to not like them anymore ;)

Dl'ing the new Chad, didn't know he had a new lp
I'm digging St Vincent's self titled and Andrew Bird's Hand's of Glory, as I've mentioned recently a few times

I still need to check out A Silver Mt Zion's new stuff and Mogwai's Rave Tapes
Are they good?

St Vincent - St. Vincent

looking forward to:

Brody Dalle - Diploid Love
Azealia Banks - Broke With Expensive Tastes
Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence

For some reason I was thinking Mogwai was last year. I really like Rave Tapes a lot. Mogwai never disappoints for me. Haven't listened to much new ASMZ yet.

I tried listening to new St. Vincent. Can't get into it. Maybe it will grow on me.

I'll have to check out the new Andy Bird record. I love his stuff.

Haven't heard of anyone doing a new album really, sorta haven't been keeping tabs with what bands are doing this year, should probably check up on that soon.

And @Laika, feel on the new War on Drugs, I liked what I've heard so far quite a bit.

They sorta had to recover from losing Kurt Vile I think, and I liked Lost in the Dream way more than their last record, which I can't remember the name of.

Vile has always been on and off with them. It's not like he was on every song they ever recorded. And it's Slave Ambient you're thinking of.

Hard Working Americans - Hard Working Americans (all covers, their first album, love the concept, these guys are great, can't wait for their album with originals)
Beck - Morning Phase (slower, acoustic grooves, more mature...i like it)
Drive By Truckers - English Oceans (meh - it's okay. they don't make bad albums, but they've gone downhill since Brighter Than Creations Dark, the new one is growing on me)

Would be cool n chill if steppenwolf put out anew album yet it aint happening u kno

Unless yesterdaywas 36 years ago

Really digging the new album by The Faint. They take too long to release albums.

I'm also digging the new Bear Hands album "Distractions."

And the new War on Drugs album just keeps getting better and better.

Nice one, Joe. Is the new one out already?

sorry it took so long to reply, but i just checked this thread again.

but yes, new album "psychic 9-5 club" is out. i listen to some of it everyday in the shower, blue sunshine is a favorite track

resident advisor put up a piece just yesterday about them. tis a good read.

linky HTRK: Love is distraction: Sanjay Fernandes discovers the personal and professional obstacles the Australian band has overcome en route to their outstanding new album.

if ya have listened to it or get around to it, drop a post on what ya think, would like to hear ya thoughts. i haven't seen anyone else mention them on bl =) cheers.

I dug the new Warpaint album, not really enjoying it as much as their previous work but still worth repeated listens
totally with you on that man. in fact every one i talked to about it said the same thing. they just dropped a new video Warpaint - Disco//Very - Keep It Healthy

also an ep with some remixes tho more like dance oriented. can't find it on youtube but if u get a chance peep Disco-Very (Moody Good Remix) with proper headphones or in the car it's absolutely mental.

Surprise of the year so far just hit me. Definitely gotta say Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks - Enter the Slasher House is way cooler than I expected it would be when I was going into it. Not usually a fan of Avey Tare side projects but this is awesome. Definitely for fans of Centipede Hz, dare I say it's better actually.

Took home the new HTRK on the weekend and gave it a few listens. The band consider it their "happy" album and I certainly don't get that vibe but some lovely soundscapes and a very album. I'll be going to the album launch next month so it will be interesting to hear how it translates being played live.

the faint have a new album? the track you posted is dangerously close to KMFDM territory. fucking love the danse macabre remixes a lot though. more than the originals.

I'd recommend checking out the new album for the hell of it. Give it at least one listen. I checked out KMFDM and I totally hear how The Faint has been influenced by them.

Right now I'm putting on Woods new album "With Light & With Love." I'm only a couple tracks deep but it seems different from what they normally do.
