Today is my last day on norco! I have been taking 10-15 10mg pills a day and I can't do this anymore. I have quit a few times before and always relapsed because of the depression issues I have. I've finally seen a doctor about my depression and have been prescribed zoloft that I've been taking for the past month, It seems to help and I finally feel hopeful and ready to quit norco. I am trying to get everything I'll need ready before the end of today so that I can make this as painless as possible.

So far I have:
1. two full boxes of Imodium
2. 6 Xanax and 3 ativan (I'm trying to get some Valium but don't know if I will be able to)
3. L-Tyrosine (500 mg caps)
4. Vitamin B6 caps
5. Tons of water, fresh fruits, access to a hot bath, lots of funny movies and books to keep my mind busy, and a big king size bed I will be living on for the next few days.

The Thomas Recipe I read says to get: "Strong wide-spectrum mineral supplement with at least 100% RDA of Zinc, Phosphorus, Copper, Magnesium and Potassium (you may not find the potassium in the same supplement)."
I am not familiar with minerals and vitamin supplements. Can someone link me to an example of what I need to get? Or tell me the brand and name of the supplement? I haven't been able to find anything that seems to fit the description above.

Also if I run out of benzos will promethizine help at all? I have about 10 promethizine pills at home.

Last question, all of the ingredients listed above are fine to take with my Zoloft prescription, correct? Thanks so much in advance for the help!

Luckily you were taking norco so the worst of the physical won't be too long; If you can get some Clonidine from your dr that will fucking save your ass the physical days.. shit is a miracle imo.... Honestly between clonidine, immodium, water, baths, vitamins, eating decent it shouldn't be too bad... everyones different though.... thats also shit load of APAP to be flushing through your system daily unless you were cold water extracting..... So your liver definitely needs to heal!

I would use the benzos sparingly and you don't really wanna mix benzos with clonidine....

IMO clonidine is way better than benzos for opiate withdrawal symptoms... atleast the physical part...

I would talk to a Dr. about any interactions though as I am NOT a medical professional.

U should be good to go; I would pick up omega 3-6-9 vitamins and a Great mens multivitamin...

I have been using the brand "Rainbow Light" once a day mens and their omega fish oil and its fucking bomb; just google them...

Their once a day multi vitamin also has a ton of other good shit for your body to heal and repair itself...

Promethizine will help just make you very tired and drowsy as will any anti-histamine; it can help though... It is mainly used for insomnia or sedation...

I still think out of everything the clonidine/immodium will help you the most..

Just my opinion having just recently gone through hell;

avoid suboxone and methadone like the plague

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so emotional right now and you made me tear up, especially the part about my liver. My mother died a few years ago from liver failure (alcohol and pills) and I know she would be so disappointed in me knowing that I fell into some of the same addictions I watched her struggle with her whole life. My childhood was pure hell because of it and I don't want my son to go though the same. He is 7 now and the past 5 years I've been high on every birthday, christmas and even school activities. For so long I felt like I needed pills to function, I am so glad I have finally seen the light.

Unfortunately I have shitty insurance and it takes me about 2 weeks to get a doctor appointment. So by the time I get an appointment my physical symptoms will be gone, I have heard many times that clonidine is great for opiate withdrawal and I wish I could get some but it looks like I'll have to do without it. I am most worried about the depression and rls.

I definitely will never go to the suboxone/methadone route. The last thing I want to do is trade one addiction for another.

Again, thank you so much for your kind words. They mean way more than you know. I'm pretty much doing this alone so I appreciate all words of encouragement.

NO. She'd be proud of you for getting better. <3
Give yourself credit where it's due.

Those words are so true. We are so quick to go after ourselves for our weakness but continually gloss over some incredible strengths as if those are trivial and not worth any mention . And we do it all the time day in and day out. I see so much heart on these boards that is never really acknowledged by the person displaying it. There is almost no one posting here that I do not have a good feeling about. I'm pretty proud and grateful to be among you all.

No wonder you need help with the Thomas Recipe -- my god. I don't mean to tick anyone off, but I look at these 'withdrawal recipes' and can't help but think how ridiculously complicated they are. And what's this all about -- Norco?? I've personally preferred to keep my withdrawals as simple as possible. Especially when dealing with low-level opiates.

#1. A lot of us go into into withdrawal because we simply can't get our drug of choice. Often due to financial reasons. So, if that's the case, can we be expected to be able spend $80 in two different drug stores to buy all these specific supplements?? They might be kind of helpful, but are by no means necessary.

#2. These recipes also advise to 'Go to your doctor & get some benzos'. Right! I know that where I live, you simply can't go to a doctor and request benzos like you're ordering a burger from McDonalds. Telling the doctor you're a pill addict often makes that more impossible. But that's where I live, maybe doctors in your area are far more liberal, I don't know.

#3. Benzos have, personally, added mental depression to my opiate withdrawal. And a weak, non-motivated feeling which is actually what I try to combat.

#4. 'Recipes' also give the advice to 'take a few days off of work'. Well, not for me that isn't the best thing!! I myself do better when I'm busy doing things - even if I'm not 100% - than sitting at home dwelling in my so-called misery. Where the minutes go by like hours. No thank you.

My recipe for mild opioid withdrawal: a box of cheap loperamide (but don't overdo them; remember loperamide takes 4 hours to reach full effect) and, by all means, go to work!! And eat where you can, when you can. For Opiate withdrawal a 100 Point treatment plan is overkill; it isn't like getting over cancer surgery or anything.

Thanks for reading. You all have a great day.

^First of all everyone is different. And sure they are only Norcos, but 10-15 is not a tiny habit. To the OP, just get what you can off of the list, there have been times where l have had access to everything in the Thomas Recipe and times where l have only had lope. It basically sucks either way but you can do it. I know how hard it is not to relapse because l have been there hundreds of times. Good luck to you!!
