Kittycat5: Does the Suboxone make you HATE the opiates? Or just not care? Or maybe replace that high and craving with satisfaction? I'm interested in how it works both physically and psychologically. Thanks for your feedback!

You should be very proud of yourself! Most opiate slaves like myself can only up the dose even when we are telling ourselves "tomorrow" and wanting to take less. The fact that you can take only 4 and not come back a half hour later to take 2 more when you didnt get the high you chase is huge. I tell myself daily im going to either lower my dose or quit all together yet every night Im mad at myself for once again taking 3 days worth in a single day. Sometimes I feel as if Im not the one in control when my body doesnt get that "normal" surge of feel good.
I didnt start to cover problems, but that wasnt the case for long. Pretty soon it got to where even just being hit with bad news was too much to handle without that shield.. I am completely ashamed of what ive become but you cant change whats already happened. Take charge and make the change so that your future can be brighter still and addiction free!
Keep us updated on how you are doing! I am starting my own detox as well and having others that are battling the same demons as i am sharing their experiences really keeps me going! Good luck and best wishes!

Subs just make you feel normal.They trick ur brain into thinking its. had. Opiates.I strong ly. advise it, Though its expensive

Forgot to mention that suboxone can only be prescribed By a doctor licensed to treat addiction since it's is not indicated for any other uses.As far as your fear of replacing one drug with another,that danger lies more with methadone.I've kicked subs in jail and remember thinking that if I could be at home in my own bed with a few benzos and some alcohol drinks,the withdrawls wouldn't be bad at all.Pretty mild withdrawls,especially if you wean down.Mild discomfort and a few sleepless nights.Good luck and let me know how it goes.I may be able to offer helpful advice if you hit any bumps in the road.

Hey there Porno.So how's the detox going?Did you try suboxone or continue with your taper?Keep us posted,wer'e all pulling for you.BTW,my math on the suboxone taper was a little off in my previous post since I was kinda buzzed.I meant 8mg/day for a week,4mg/day for a week,2mg/day for a week or so then a single mg/day for a couple days.Then try to procure yourself a supply of benzos like xanax,valium or what have you.Washing them down with a few drinks will help you thru the last of the withdrawls.Also,the muscle relaxer Carasoprodol (Soma) taken in the evenings works wonders for the insomnia.Just better careful mixing these things.Obviously,this is the stage when you want totally take a couple of sick days since benzos and alcohol aren't a good idea at work!Hang in there bro,you can do it!

Hey guys sorry to revive a old thread it’s me (Feelin-u4ia) I lost my email to that account and I wanted to come here let you guys know I am indeed still alive, to combat the damage to my liver I used to take NAC which is OTC and literally used in ER to reverse APAP OD. I just wanted to let you guys know in 2015 I joined a methadone clinic and was on 270 mg methadone and I am as of now at 8 mg… just wanted to let you all know there really is hope at the end of the tunnel, and yes- it was all true, it’s nothing to brag about consuming 1,000 mg of hydro and 600-800 mg oxy. But I’m here.. alive.. with a baby, life has infact been good to me. I love you all that are still struggling and know you will be done with this one day.
