Need help with identifying seeds and buds.

But i have put alot of time and effort into this plant + its budding...

Is it your only plant??? If so you should definitely keep it. If you have other plants that are female you should destroy that sucka asap!

As far are the picture goes i cant be sure but they look like seed pods to me.

These look like immature male flowers to me. If I'm right and you're picking these off to prevent fertilization of your buds you are doomed to fail, sadly, depending of course on the size and structure of your plant. The bigger the plant the more male flowers it will produce to pollinate the buds you already have and guarantee survival of it's line. Even a few male flowers you miss will create carnage and coincidentally could pollute other females growing nearby for which you would not be thanked.

Grim that this is your only plant, but as a rule of thumb you should only invest your valuable time and effort on seed from the highest quality bud or reliable source you can come by. Hermaphrodite seed will almost certainly guarantee hermaphroditic offspring and no good comes from persisting with them in the ground once you know for sure. Better luck next time asty86.
But hey, I could be wrong :)

losthippy's post is on the money..

they're deff. male flowers.. the first bushies (3 in total) I grew in my backyard back when I was 15 all turned out to be from hermaphradite genetics :X (either that or planting them way too early in the season [mid-late winter] creating a stressed out light pattern turned them into hermies) and I ended up spendin shitloads of time pickin most the fuckers off but of course, I missed a couple on the lower branchs causing a bit of seed in the finial product :!

Cannabis is a fickle plant with a tendency to panic sometimes and procreate as fast as it can if it feels threatened. Sometimes its breeding (or the lack there-of), and sometimes environmental or cultural factors set them off, but stable varieties tend to remain true in my experience.

^ I've always germinated my sativas mid-late winter to allow for their extended growing period and this has never triggered an outbreak of hermaphrodites. When they declare the pattern is for pistillate flowers to set first followed by random staminate flowers here and there or in loose clusters, and the outcome is always the same. Hermaphrodites will produce seed no matter what you do.

I lost a couple of pure lines of sinsemilla one season because I got sloppy and missed what
I should have seen. Some buds I salvaged (smoked-up harsh and oily) the rest I burned or turned into compost.

Apologies losthippy I meant you know your shit, not how I wrote "knows shit". Small fuckup big difference. Drugs can do that to you to!

I am interested in more specific growing conditions of OP in order he receives better advice but would this break forum laws? Wouldn't want to break any laws.
