Hi guys, recently I have been getting serious trouble to fall asleep as you can see here http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=401000 , so I need to know which are the best drugs to get me to sleep, QUALITY sleep; Midazolam used to work very well on me but recently it gives me an ultra REM-like sleep, so light that I feel like I am 50% awake 50% asleep... I was thinking on 500mg Tramadol and 20mg Alprazolam, what do you think about it? or should I switch Alprazolam for Clonazepam? Melatonin gives me crazy real dreams so its a NO NO, Amitriptyline, Wellbutrin, all those gives the worst hang over, and im not even thinking about the seizure risk with these.
I would love to be able to get some Phenobarbital but right now its impossible.

I have had a lot of luck with temazepam at 30mg doses. 90mg will knock me out, but 30-60 is enough to let me fall asleep as naturally as possible. Also I don't wake up feeling groggy in the morning as I believe it has a fairly short half life.

Ambien worked for me for about 2 years but I have switched to benzos. Best of luck...sleeping disorders suck.

Since when is Wellbutrin used for sleep?

I'd agree with 30mg temazepam though. It's the only benzo I've tried that works, and I end up feeling MORE refreshed in the morning than I normally would. I'd also love to meet a doctor that will prescribe 20mg Xanax.

what would be better as in quality of sleep/power, 40mg of Xanax or 20mg of Xanax and 20mg of Clonazepam?

It's purely anecdotal but I disagree. Diphenhydramine doesn't even work that well but makes me feel like absolute shit the next day.

And seriously.... 40mg of Xanax to sleep?! Who ever is prescribing that shit should be shot.

do you exercise?

how is your diet?

are you hydrated?

do you take a multivitamin?

do you get 15 minutes of sun a day?

what is your bedtime routine?

my tolerance is just ridiculous too, keep in mind, 20mg of DIazepam, 24mg of Bromazepam and 15mg of Midazolam wasnt enough for me

I do some excercise while going and coming from work, walking, take the train, take the bus, more walking

my diet sucks, I live on energy drinks and coke or sprite, my meals are sometimes fast food, sometimes meat, sometimes I spend 2 o3 days without having any real meal

I am hydrated, for sure.

I take some multivitamins, not much, but one everyweek, yes, I do.

Indeed, I get like half an hour of sun per day, except on weekends -I almost dont go out.

My bedtime routine is wake up at 7.20 am, go to work, and try to sleep at 1 am.
On weekends I sleep at 3 o4 am and wake up at 3 or 4 pm.

20mg of Diazepam may not be enough for you (it isn't for me either), but that's equivalent to like... 1mg, MAYBE 2mg of Xanax max. 40mg Xanax is almost like taking a GRAM of diazepam. Even with the STRONGEST Xanax pill (considered to be the strongest single pill of all the benzos), you'd need to take over a dozen pills for 40mg. I'd be shocked if ANY doctor would be willing to prescribe anything close to that.

hm, GM, i DEF feel more rested and in a better mood when i wake up off of benzos than god-awful diphen. Makes me feel like there are holes eaten out of my brain. But overall, i would reccomend melatonin w/valerian root.

yes, but just because you feel like that doesn't mean long-term its good for you. Benzo sleep is not healthy sleep.

Diph. sleep is very unhealthy/unproductive sleep.

well, sadly.... its all about tolerance. Im screwed up. I took 40mg of Alprazolam (yes, you read it right) and 20mg of Clonazepam and sleeped like a baby, wake up without ANY hangover and even without sleep thanks to the Tramadol.

It's not a drug, but I feel as if melatonin could help you get back onto a regular sleep schedule. My roommate is a fan of valerian root, though when I tried it all it did was give me a headache.

I'd reccomend a Theanine/Melatonin combo, works for me like a charm and I have a long history of insomnia.

Take A half an hour before bedtime, grab a comfrot book, and drift off to sleep.

Try to avoid hypnotic benzos because their quite habit forming, I also found Ambien and Sonota to be useless as well. Good luck PM me if you need any mor einfo.

Well, besides your overuse of benzos, your horrible diet and little exercise....

I doubt you are going to find anything as useful to you as prescription meds until you choose to stop relying on them, as others have stated you're way overboard there but anyways, here are my alternative suggestions..

Theanine is one of my staple supplements, I love the stuff, in some studies it's been shown to work as well or better than valium (which is probably useless to you at this stage). If you want a good sleep stack try ZMA (Zinc and Magnesium Aspartate), melatonin (I know you said this is a no no but it's possible you took too high a dose which led to your adverse reaction, LEF makes a good cheap time released version as well as many different dosages) and maybe try tryptophan which has been returned to an OTC supplement in the USA finally.

The best over the counter sleep aid is Doxylamine Succinate, take 25mgs and you'll be out.

I too have horrible insomnia, problem is I stay up until 5-6AM on weekends because I'm a raver and go to raves. The pills I eat I tend to be a bit speedy. I don't eat healthy, and only exercise I get is from dancing at a rave to happy hardcore. Is this even good exercise at all?

During the normal week its impossible for me to get to sleep before 4AM, and I've tried alot of sleep aids, but they stop working for me after a while. I sleep in until 1PM, then feel all groogy from all the sleep meds.

How do you get to sleep at a reasonable time without the assistance of pills? I don't want to have to relay on pills for something like sleep.
