Nasty Reverse Tolerance to Adderall XR Side Effects

I've been taking 15-20mg Adderall XR, 1 mg Klonopin, and 10mg Celexa for the past four years. Lately, I got the klonopin increased to 1.5mg because I've been having bad anxiety.
That didn't seem to help much. I get extremely anxious and irritable over little things. I tried switching to dexedrine, but that didn't help at all. I've also been drinking too much to try and counteract the rage/anxiety. I didn't have this problem when I first started taking adderall for ADD, but the side effects keep getting worse. Either that or my benzo tolerance has gotten extremely high. The last time I went to my pdocs, I got my vitals taken and my pulse was 120! I mentioned that to my psychiatrist and he didn't seen surprised. Isn't it dangerous to have a pulse that high?

Pulse isn't as important as BP, but that's odd for it to be so high since you seemed to be a seasoned amphetamine user. The benzo shouldn't have too much more effect since it's only an extra .5, but sometimes amphetamine come downs can cause irritability, and in your case rage, maybe?

I wouldn't worry about your HR. Stimulants cause a higher heart rate, and can cause it to rise even higher during the comedown (which is also when the most anxiety is usually experienced). That's why he wasn't worried. It's pretty normal to have a HR in the range of 90-120 or so. I've taken a-PVP and experienced basically a panic attack from it, my HR went up to 186 BPM at one point. Now that is when you worry, but it passed and I was fine.

A higher HR is how I know my Adderall has kicked in for sure. Of course with tolerance your HR won't rise as much as if you had no tolerance if talking about the same dosage.

As churchpk said, BP is much more important. If you have naturally high blood pressure Adderall could be dangerous, but I'm sure you would have already experienced a problem after 4 years of use if that were the case.

The klonopin will lower your BP and can lower your HR too, but it doesn't always.

Reverse tolerance would suggest an increased sensitivity to your dose so i would suggest taking less adderall. What happens with amps is that the brain becomes less tolerant to the negative effects and more tolerant to the positive effects. Reason probably being something to do with dopamine downregulation.

So, 'pulse' defines the observed tactile sensation of the 'heart rate'. The heart rate is measured by pulse which is not related to blood pressure. (The definitions are in a transitional period as HR used to be referred to as the pulse) But anyway, normal range is 60-100. When your HR is resting above 100, that is tachycardia which can be ok or can be dangerous depending on the variety. You probably have Sinus Tachycardia, an asymptomatic effect of the speed.
