between boring and bored
I was on another thread and posted this partially but thought creating new thread it would get more views instead of being buried in someone else's thread.

In 2006 I overdosed on heroin and I realized I had overdone it and called 911 next thing I remember is lying on my living room floor then sat up right and couldn't understand why cops and paramedics were surrounding me.Anyway the paramedics had administered me narcan because my pulse was 9 beats a minute and I was dying. Next I get to the hospital and they had to readminister it 5 more times. All I could remember for an injection it sure left a nasty taste in my mouth. The doctor came in and said he couldn't understand why the heroin kept taking over the narcan. This perplexes me because I thought narcan clears the dope from your system, why would I keep going out? I remember I'd be lying thee and I'd be semi conscious and could hear my breathing machine keep going off(I believe but am not sure once your pulse ox gets below 80 the machine would beep).

The worst part was in detox the next day I almost died because I had aspirated pneumonia from all those times I puked I guess I breathed some in. I was told later my pulse ox in detox fell to 37(nurse thought the machine was broke until she took hers and it shot up to 99) which is dangerously low and they gave me 5 liters of oxygen to get it in the upper 50's before paramedics arrived. Almost forgot when pulse ox was 37 I was unconscious and another addict in the detox got the nurse because I was making funny sounds.

Anyway is narcan taking more then one dose normal? If not what could've caused this?

Yes, this is common. In fact normal practice. The half life of Narcan is considerably less than that of most opiates, so it often needs to be administered every 1 or 2 hours. It reverses the effect of the opiate but only for as long as the Narcan is in your system.
