Muscle building via flexing

Did you know that you can get as big as you want just by flexing and stretching the right ways? You get to the point just below the charlie horse threshhold and then you hold, remaing the squeeze for 10 seconds at least. If you do this over and over again with the individual muscles, the the results will be astonishing. You can actually body build without the use of any weights whatsoever.

Then you stretch in between flexing sets. Mix it up. Do as little or as much as you feel necessary.

Also, the combination of these flexing, stretching, and maybe deep breathing exercises is quite the mental activity as well. You can sorta gain spiritual awareness. If I'm stoned and I'm doing it in front of a mirror I can almost transcend myself to a different universe as with these exercises it almost feels as if i am presenting myself to the universe. Again this is abstract but it in a way is a form of deep meditation. It's quite amazing what you can pull off with it if you simply ignore the fact that it's kind of weird, a more abstract way of working out and thinking as well. I seriously believe this can be the way the elite work out. The work out of a god.

I think I might develope this idea someday. But for now, I'm going to stick to the test trials.

I'm just wondering how many of you people here would believe something like this. A scientist would argue you with this probably, but I beg to differ. I'm offering you the truth; as I have witnessed this interesting phenomonon firsthand.

Pictures available.

yeah I can get this idea... I have done similar stretching/excersizing techniques that have left my body pumped up for some time afterwards.

-Like I've been lifting weights for these three years my body has actually been pretty stagnant..

I mean seriously- I have gotten my stomach to form a six-packish thing in a weeks time, my shoulders to block off, my chest to pump up.. etc...

It's crazy really.

And if you apply some hardcore metal or even tai chi music to it, it'll increase your mood and hopefully it will hit your adrenalin center. You can even apply dance to it or some shadow boxing(pretending there is an opponent,ie your shadow).

Once you master the art of having fun with your work out, you are invincible.

If you've been lifting for 3 years and have not made much gains, you dont know what your doing.

Christian dude...

Umm.. maybe I didn't word everything correctly..

I said that my body has been pretty stagnant, but in a weeks time I can make it look like I've been keeping in shape the past couple years by some weightlifting.

I am not physically very active, normally- but I still have no problem wrestling a friend to the floor if need be.

My friends who weightlift every day still can't keep up with what I have naturally.

Sure call me a pothead, you know shit.

It's called Isometric Exercise. It's been around for a little while.

That temporary pump you get after working out is not muscle growth.

And I never called you a pothead.

I agree that it is really just pumping the muscles up, but I believe judgyfishy has a good idea... and I for one believe that it's possible to gain mass without lifting weights... through some of the methods he talked about.

I'm just gunning for mod of the year here, folks.

>>I think it fits fine in this forum. Because its theoretical.>>

Marginally. Actually, only marginally marginally.

okay...so away this goes to healthy living (much belatedly).

ebola

Briefly and very simply without references,

Muscles are built when the muscle fibers tear and then rebuild. Stretching is one way to lightly induce the tearing of the muscles. However, there is no way it is intense enough to significantly compare to the muscle tearing created by intense weight lifting.

The flexing part of course gives you a good pump becaus eof the blood rush to the muscle area, which is good when lifting as it helps shuttle (again no references) nutrients in the blood to the muscle allowing quiker recovery. Try flexing the muscle in quetion inbetween sets of resistance trainging of that muscle!

BTW, I thought I had once read that streching tears the muscle fibers differently then standrad resistance training. Anyone else know anythign about that? Like it splits the fibers in a different direction or something?

Exactly what I'm talking about ^.

I have several knots on my back, one huge on in the lower back and a few little ones spread around, and one on my left shoulder. (not sure if it's actually a not.. or just constant tension)

These knots are a result of muscle-tears from when I worked a lot... trying to hold huge houseboats/cruisers together in high winds basically.... I never let go, with my rotweiler grip... haha.

These knots are painful, and are essentially muscle tissue that got callaced over and over due to the initial injury- my body over-healed.

Some people have this happen more than others, mine happen to allow me to lift weight certain ways that another person couldn't. (unless they were a body builder, or just overall very strong, whatever)... either way, it's not really healthy.

I will have to find a link to some legit information about this kind of stuff.. but it is possible. To me, there's no other explanation for being able to lift certain things, certain ways... but not other ways.

Because of personal experience, I don't suggest going out and herniating your muscles.. although the end result can make you stronger in some areas of your body, the overstretching and overgrowth of muscle tissue in areas can cause tension which can cause some other painful disorders, and might (most likely) weaken the body overall.

UPDATE: The results of my methods are incredible. It is amazing what differences I see in 1 week of training with it. Pictures are coming soon.
