Whenever I hear people talking about someone who had passed, a person will sometimes say something like, ”they're in a better place now”.

Lets just assume this is true.

So, if you kill someone, bringing them to a better place, free of pain, suffering, misery, etc., then would it really be wrong to kill them?

I'm not saying it's a good thing to go out killing, I'm wondering that if in the case that we knew death brought on something better, how would killing someone be frowned upon?

Usually when someone says they're in a better place now is because what the person died from may have been a shitty situation.. Such as from drugs or even cancer..... Usually bad things lead up to death and so then when that shits over then we hope the person is in a better place. And when someone dies naturally we're okay because we believe they're in a better place but no one thinks that unless someone is dead. If they're alive then it doesn't cross our mind.

No, this saying is purely as a condolence for those still living.

(similar to) this guy is dying , lets not help him but leave him to die, coz this is his karma

Strangling children while they watch their parents bleed out of their fresh ly exposed brain isn't inherently bad.

8) here we^ go again.... yeah nah, i'm not touching that bait. :\

There is nothing inherently wrong with murder. It is only society that deems it wrong. As for the affect it has upon the mind of the murderer and the ramifications it has upon the community, that is a different question.

I think to arbitrarily kill someone because they'll go to a better place is the wrong action. It removes choice from the victim who no doubt is also aware that they'll go to a better place when they die. The pub is sometimes a better place than being at work but I like to choose what time I go to the pub

^There we go.

^_^ If someone broke into my home and put my life or the lives of my family at risk I would have no qualms about shooting the intruder in the face. If I were drunk and accidentally ran someone over with my car I would feel guilt and sadness (*personally I would never drink and drive). Now depending on what era and what country you live in the legal punishment would vary.. but at the end of the day you murdered someone in both examples. One could be deemed justified, the other an act of stupidity and recklessness. Irrespective of the legal judgement you still murdered someone however.. one is neither better than the other but protecting your family cries out to a part of our natural programming and we deem this slightly less "wrong", especially if the intruder was a known criminal/bad guy. But again, one is no different from the other. Both are not wrong, it is only the judgement cast by society that deems one or both to be wrong. In the interests of maintaining cohesion in society murder is deemed wrong.. but basically this is to deter people from trying to assassinate the gangsters in the status quo.. it has nothing to do with right and wrong.

Murder can never be justified, only in rare cases of self-defense can it be justified.

Given those assumptions, it would still be wrong because you have no *right* to kill them, to harm their person, even if it is to their advantage. That something benefits a person does not automatically give others permission to force that something on that person.

I'm the resident existential nihilist here... Nice to meet you.

even killing so many poor animals can not be justified,
i think time will come when humans stop eating flesh and animal corpses

rubbish. and besides plants are living things too you know, they feel pain just as animals do. life is built upon one thing eating another, you can not escape it.

It's hard to just say "assuming that's true" because the answer to this question would differ greatly between worldviews.

Thats mistake mate, plants are living things but they have no feelings,
frankly i cant get that, how can you compare plants and animals? Do you really believe that they have the same feelings???
You can escape it if you wish, stomach is below, and vegetables contain all necessary substances that is needed for
healthy living.
