I watched the movie "the killing fields" a little while back and loved it, I was on the edge of my seat. I tried finding movies related to it, but couldn't find any I really liked. It's not really the specific subject I liked so much about it, I mean I do like movies about communists and the cold war, But what really enthralled me was that feeling that any second another bomb is going to be dropped on you. If it's also about the cold war that's even better, but what I'm really looking for is a movie that makes YOU feel like you're in the war, and you could be bombed any second. Anyone know any movies like that?

You might like the documentary “The Act of Killing” which is about the mass killing of suspected communist sympathisers in Indonesia in 1965. As in Cambodia upwards of a million people were killed.

+1 to the recommendation of Hotel Rwanda.

Take a look at this one. Quite unknown but it's a very shocking film. Although it's from the second world war. You will not regret.
