Most effective way to obtain Kief (from about an Oz.)

^^well everyone with a grinder that has a kief catcher smokes bud that has been kiefed already

it smokes great to me, and yes i do atempt to get as much kief as possible, sometimes i just shake it, sometimes i have stuck it in the freezer, and other times left it on the dryer, and as long as you had good stuff to start out with the bud smokes great, seriously great

and to the OP, if you end up investing in a good kief box i really recommend the 4 screen set on freshheadies.com. it produces very good high quality dry sift

Yea I guess it depends on how much you kief it. A kief screen in a grinder only collects the crystals that would fall off when breaking it up anyway. Unless you are rubbing your bud against the screen which not only makers your kief less pure (more plant matter goes through when pressure it applied) but it also makes your bud much less potent and tasty.

Some people don't mind the tradeoff because they just love to have lots of kief. I'd rather let it build up naturally and smoke my bud as is without "watering it down" by taking out the goodies.

I think the OP was talking about REALLY kiefing it in that he wants to grind it up and isolate as many trichomes as possible. This would make the leftovers pretty weak and not worthwhile to smoke IMO. Sure, you could smoke it and you will get high but it will take way more. I would rather extract whatever is left in it with cooking oil and put it into some brownies.

Yea a keif box would be best for getting keif, also a friend and I have gotten a sheet of metal from the hardware store with pretty small holes in it and used it to keif a shitload of trim/bud/shake and I ended up walking away with a tupperware container full, of course its less potent keif than from a grinder because more weed particular gets through but still not bad.
