Opioids Morphine Degrading/Destruction at 80°C and Esterfication at higher temp's.

I've read on here and other sites that morphine is broken down at 80°C.

I've also read that Heroin and other ester's of morphine are made by boiling the morphine with what ever acid anhydride is used at 130°C.

If this is true why is it the morphine is not destroyed when it is boiled or is some of it broken down/lost during this process?

Morphine doesn't degrade at 80 degrees C.

I've seen multiple people here say that it does. Apparently it says it in some Martindale pharm' book (A big pharma' book that has been going for years!)

This is the reason I've seen people say don't boil when cooking up your H/making opium/poppy pod tea, as it'll break the diamorphine/morphine.
