For how long will 5ht/da elevation persist after dosing 5htp/tyrosine? My guess is that it depends on enzymatic pathways and rate of conversion, but without half lives I cant get any closer to a conclusive answer

That's a good question. I'm pretty sure it's a rate limited conversion process. I would search PubMed or PubChem for articles on the subject and see if anyone can get them. It shouldn't be hard.

I'm guessing that tyrosine supplementation does very little for central DA levels. TH is rate limited, and oral administration without using carbidopa to block peripheral metabolism will probably mean little or none is getting in the brain. I'd have to look into 5HTP more, but you're capable of doing this on your own.

I'm not aware of any notable side effects associated with even high dose tyrosine supplementation. That's not the case with L-Dopa therapy, though..

My great uncle has Parkinson's like all farmers from the 70's...
And my cousin ended up taking some of his generic L-DOPA one day for reasons unknown (think she was going for a aspirin, things look really similar) and ended up having a agitated nausea and hypotension filled morning.

TBH most L-DOPA doesn't even reach the limbic system before it's gobbled up by the substantia nigra and really most of its effects there are on movement.
