Modern rap - hey old timers our music doesnt actually suck

The criticism over "mumbling" lyrics is overrated.

Louie Louie was released in 1963. Everyone danced and sang the few lyrics of the chorus they could make out. In 1991 Nirvana released Smells like Teen spirit. Everyone danced and sang the few lyrics of the chorus they could make out. Sure the old timers of those days had their own problems with rock and roll or grunge but that was specifically a generational issue. Mumbling lyrics is timeless.

Todays old timers, even the ones I respect such as Eminem, just can't get over the fact that music isn't 100% percent about lyrics. You don't see other legendary lyricist such as Bob Dylan complaining about how rock and roll is mumbling too much. That's because they have an understanding that music is ultimately about sounds.

"Ya'll don't want to hear me, you just want to dance" isn't a new concept in rap or music for that matter.

Get over it.

If the hip hop don't look and sound exactly like this, negrogesic don't fuck with it
