MODERATOR VOTE: Please Read.

I would like you all to make a vote for a new moderator to assist us in this task.
My spare time is going to plummet in a dramatic way in a very short time, and while I am happy to continue to moderate (after business hours from a slow connection), I will not be able to read every post, nor spend the kind of hours I have been, online. I must force myself to concentrate on my RL commitments, because if I do not, quite bluntly, I will fuck myself over royally. I have really loved spending the time to do what I've been doing here, but I've gotta take a bit of a step back. I hope you'll understand. I probably will be able to come on each day, but not for the hours I've currently been doing.
Here is the deal. If you are planning on nominating someone, please check by email, or posting here, that they accept. Then vote for them. Currently I know that some favourites (pinger and entropope) have both declined nomination (but they are free to accept again at any time if they wish).
Or - much better yet, anyone want to nominate themselves?

I do not wish to nominate or vote for anyone as yet, but I do want to say that anyone that does volunteer has the utmost respect from myself for taking up such a position.

Being a moderator certainly is a coveted position, for me anyway. The reason I've asked for others is stated above - I have to cut my online hours to get work done. Since I'm becoming very busy in the next 6 months with work, I'd like someone to help out, because the other moderators here are also either busy or missing (presumed having a bad connection). Being a moderator for this forum is actually a pleasure, because people mostly post on topic, and generally follow the rules, and the other members of the board often help to enforce the rules here and point people in the right directions. It's a very helpful and informative forum, and lots of interesting comments are posted for us all to read.
OK so the pay sucks, but you can't have everything.

To be quite honest, I don't see the big deal. I'd be a moderator again, things ARE running extremely smoothly around here considering any lack moderatorship I may have mentioned, and I probably DO have the time (especially seeing as though i dropped that 5th subject) but there are some days when I just don't feel like looking at Bluelight, and I'm lazy y'see, if I don't like the looks of something I just don't read it.. and I don't want people like me abusing me if I don't do my job properly.

So there ya have it. I'd do it, but I don't want to ever feel like i HAVE to go look at Bluelight, and I certainly don't want to commit myself to reading every single thread.
Besides.. I'm not sure anyone would want me after my poor efforts over the past couple of days.

In my last two posts, I didn't mean to sound like I was over-reacting to your words at all Mona. I try to never associate a tone of voice with people's words on these posts, because in a text-based medium you can never quite tell exactly how someone means to make thier point. I didn't take anything you said the wrong way darl, just thought I'd better post a response to your words... if my posts sounded hurt or down on you, then perhaps I didn't make my point properly either.
I'd love for you to come on here and clean up the joint whenever you got the time - you grabbed the off topic posts within about 2 days of them popping up, and felt like saying so, which is good enough for me. I'd go along with you being a mod here again if you wanted to.

That way our board can again have a sydney moderator, who's an "old timer" and knows all the ins and outs of this board from way back.

For sure, one of the Bluelight legends, Its_Chaos has my vote. He's experienced, knows his stuff, is more than willing to help out Bluelight, and has a wicked sense of humour too.

ok here's what i reckon:
remove anjele as a mod in this forum, its really just a hang over from when there wasn't a rave cullture forum, i'm sure she wont mind.
give entropope a mod slot, mainly so he can close and open perth threads and take care of biz over there. he's doing it anyway and it would no doubt help him if he could move/close stuff. we'll make damn sure that no one thinks its a status thing or that it makes him better than any one else

of course he has to want this....
that leaves one slot free for whoever wants it... chaos mah man if you want it its yours... but you gotta do the work, hell everyone does...

Yep I agree JB, once again - I haven't had a chance to speak to Anjele about this, but I've already (in the Caesar thread) supported Entropope so if he wants a spot I'm fine with that. I've also spoken to Chaos who said he's willing to put in the work if we want him. Both of these guys have a lot of time online, and make good contributions to Bluelight (in their own ways

I am very much flattered jb, and bt. I mean no lack of gratitude in saying: I am scared to take on this role for fear of scaring people. And I appreciate you mentioning that johnboy.
But I'm starting to realise this can be taken care of. I was very much not keen on being in this role until this w/e. Speaking to few people, including a long time lurker, has kinda led me to see its possible to do this, and still be me. Also observing BT has helped. It'll be a shame to see you disappear... or become less frequent.
So yep, if its deemed acceptable, I accept
