Moclobemide and Dexamphetamine

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my thread.

I have been seeing the same psychiatrist/s for years, and I have been on a variety of different medications, primarily for ADHD and anxiety.

I have been prescribed Dexamphetamine for years now, and am on 35mg a day. Previously I have been on concurrent prescriptions of Diazepam and other benzodiazapines, but decided to stop them for a few years, and just recently got back on Diazepam. The psychiatrists expressed concerns about lifelong addiction, and the need for my dose to be continuously raised, although I basically came to the resolution with them, that I am aware enough to give myself tolerance breaks and have the self-control to keep my dose low. They said it would be bad practice to not at least try me on some other medications to see if they help, and since then I have tried a few, which I will list.

Phenytoin: Off-label for ADHD, but also meant to benefit anxiety. It didn't do much for me, and sort of made me feel slow.

Escitalopram: It was basically just a shitty SSRI, with moderate sexual dysfunction, brain zaps and no positive effects.

Desvenlafaxine: This helped for a couple of weeks, but then increased my anxiety and gave me horrible sexual dysfunction and headaches.

Now they want to trial me on Moclobemide, which is a reversible-MAOI (RIMA).

Does anyone have any experience with this combination? Conventional logic would lead me to assume that this is a dangerous combination. I'm sure the psychiatrists know what they are doing, but some insight on what to expect would be good.

My guess is that Dexamphetamine is only weakly serotonergic, so there is not too much of a direct risk of serotonin syndrome. But what about noradrenaline? Wont a spike in that be somewhat dangerous, and more than likely increase my anxiety? Anyway, I'll keep thinking about it, and see what you people who know a lot about the topic think.

:)
