DESLOGE, Mo. (AP) - The police officer's Quarter Pounder with Cheese tasted a little funny, and for good reason: It was laced with methamphetamine. The incident happened in December in Desloge, Mo., about 50 miles southwest of St. Louis, but was not made public until Friday. Police Chief James Bullock told KMOV-TV in St. Louis that the officer went to McDonald's the day after Christmas and bought the sandwich, then took it back to the police station.

"He thought it tasted kind of funny so he looked at the burger," Bullock said. "It looked like it had a foreign substance on it."


The burger was sent to the Missouri Highway Patrol crime lab for testing and tested positive for meth.

In a statement from McDonald's, John McCook, who owns and operates the Desloge restaurant, said safety and well-being of customers and employees "is always is our top priority." He said the chain is fully cooperating with the investigation.

No charges have been filed, though Bullock said a young man who used to work at the restaurant is being scrutinized. That man's friends had trouble with the same officer years ago.

Missouri is among the nation's hardest-hit states in terms of meth production and arrests. Police in Desloge and the surrounding counties make hundreds of meth arrests every year.

Usually i'd agree, but pigs deserve all the punishment we can dish out. Fucking loser cops, I have to pay a $300 court fine today. :X
 
No. We are better than them. Sure, I wouldn't piss on one if he was on fire. Hell, while I wouldn't do it myself I couldn't care less if someone else shot one. I just view involuntary alteration of another's mental state to be abhorrent.

And I think the kid that gave the cop meth is a little retard. Meth gets people high. He should have chose something like PCP or LSD, something to make the cop freak out not feel good.

Exactly!

Drugs are not, and should never be, used as a weapon. It is both ethically and morally wrong. What what this kid did, or who ever did it, is contribute to an environment of separation.

How will this effect the next police officer who discovers drugs on someone? All that this kind of crap does is to further the divide between those who are against drugs and those who are in support of them.

This whole idea of harming the police is part and parcel of crime. The only reason that the criminal element is involved in drugs is because of prohibition. Crime has no place in drug use, and recreational drug use should not be a crime.

It is the prohibitionists who made recreational drug use a crime, not the police.


I'm pointing this out because we all need to stop allowing prohibition to control how we think about all of this. Sure, there are real shit heads who are cops. But they aren't all shit heads.


All this kid (or who ever) did was give more justification to the prohibitionists in justifying their cause of keeping drugs illegal. Either we need to respect and be responsible for the drugs we use, or we don't deserve to use them.

If this kid was responsible for tainting that cop's hamburger, I hope he spends the next ten years being bubba's favorate little asshole. :X
 
^This story just sounds plain fishy to me. Why would someone send a burger to the crime lab because "it tasted funny"? It dosen't say whether or not he felt the effects of the meth, which is another red flag. It's feasible that this cop planted the meth there himself and made up a story to get his name in the paper, and point the finger at some poor kid.

Of course it could be vice-versa, the kid is the dickhead and the cop did nothing wrong. I wish the courts where more objective, they give cops a lot of power in court and assume automatically that they won't lie. Their lives are also deemed more important than an average persons life--if you accidentally kill a cop, your fucked. If a cop accidently kills you, the most he'll get is suspended with pay and have to make an apology. Fucked up.
 
I agree with you junk..... what kind of tweaker gives away free meth........ TO A COP!!!! I could see being dosed with something that would ruin his day, like Acid, but meth????? I say crooked cop needs and excuse to pass a drug test.
