I have been taking stimulants for quite some time and have experience with many nmda antagonists as a supplement
The very first of them was magnesium. It certainly did not produce supernatural results, but I was really amazed how a simple mineral can so significantly modulate the action of a stimulant.
The second was memantine. Mixed impressions. I often took memantine alone and was a fan of this substance. But in the end I gave it up, because due to its pharmacological properties, it reduces, and sometimes even blocks the desired effects of stimulants. More precisely, they are partly there, but they are perceived neutrally - I simply did not experience satisfaction and hedonism to the proper degree. I did not immediately understand this, for a significant period of time I used memantine together with amphetamine / methamphetamine. There is no effect on tolerance, except for the illusion when used together, but in this case the stimulants become only an addition to memantine, losing their qualities. This combination feels like a stimulant for children, everything is too soft and harmless.
Ketamine is the best thing I have ever taken. Restores the activity of the dopaminergic system to some extent. Sometimes, when I was depressed, using a low dose of ketamine seemed to reset my brain and return the positive effects of stimulants. Unlike memantine, combined use does not suppress the effect, so I used a low dose during the action to maintain the effect. But I can’t say that it was a reduction/prevention of tolerance, rather ketamine potentiated, because after it stopped working, the stimulants worked poorly again.
Everything I used to reduce tolerance or at least partially support the effectiveness does not work fully. Deep down, I understand that this is a utopia and homeostasis will win, but nevertheless, I blindly tried to hack this entire system and despite all this, I still take ketamine as an adjunct to methamphetamine. In my experience, using a minimal dose is the most significant factor. Especially if the use is systematic. When the euphoria passes, then increasing the dosage will not return it, rather it will worsen the situation, so I did not understand people who take large doses to maintain the same effectiveness, it never worked for me. Of course, it is equally important to take a break, but in my case, if I have drugs, then a break is achieved only when they run out :D
