I'm about to leave so not going to write a big description of it, but do we have any Minecraft players here at BL?

I love the game, been playing it sporadically since a few months ago. Currently working on my latest world which I'm recording so I can show others my style of play and a few little neat tricks I've learnt.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minecraft < Wiki article for those who've never played it.

So, any players?

saw a review on good game and it really piqued my interest, even though it's still only on alpha copy and has no story or instructions.

God damn I'm sick of hearing about this game. It's on the front page of reddit every day.

Lived it non stop for 6 months now. Taken a break now to rekindle my love for TF2 haha. It's a good game though, considering it's in alpha.

And IP, it's not the sort of game that requires a story or instructions (if you need help though there's always this.)

Im addicted. Working on constructing a big castle atm, have a few underwater glass rooms which aren't worth the time it takes to make.

Got a big minecart system that has different tracks to go to each of my mines.

Very helpful trick:

Basically, as your cart goes past the 4 spinning carts you are instantly boosted to top speed, which lasts until you reach the end of your track. (yes you go on infinitely if you have no stop your momentum is such, and of course you can go directly up so it is very useful.)

Oh god this game is super addicting. I think he named it wrong -.- Anyhow, for now I only play single player. Once Notch gets all the bugs for survival multiplayer worked out a few friends and I will set up a server and see what we can do.

October 31st is when the big update is coming. It's going to add more content and make the game harder and more addicting.

i love minecraft

over the years since this thread, i've been enjoying it on the imac, then on the ipad and iphone. spending years away from my iac world, and then revisiting, it is like going home.

i've just bought it for xbox one, and it has a tutorial stage. it seems i have barely scratched the surface of the game with basic exploration and figuring shit out myself. i never cared for electricity usage, but have played with a bit of farming and the like. but i had never even heard of the nether. going through the tute portal it actually scared me. i had little idea about the spells and charms in the game, and had no clue you could even make a gollum.

the sense of adventure when exploring and the stakes of losing all your carried gear if you die all instill a great sense of absorption. i feel more from this storyless game than i do in scripted entertainment.
