Loved one has mentioned things Im unsure of whats up or who to help.
Ok. A loved one has knowledge of drugs for many years. Went to pharmaceuticals to cope. 10+ years of doctors giving anything that comes to mind. Well this person has weened them self off pharma for last 6-16 months on about 5 different prescribed "safe and effective" "treatments"
Experiencing paranoia that people are watching their activity. This person works 9-5 and isn't doing anything as street drugs, in bars or anything. Id believe the come off of drugs has alot to do with this. Hard to convience this person that no one is watching or against you. Now to be clear they are not sitting in a corner rocking back n forth. Its an odd thing, I've never come across.
Opinions are needed. Be well.

Welcome to BL

There could be a few things going on here. Can you provide a little more info?

Was this person taking benzos for a very long time? Do you know what drugs/medications they were using? Has this person ever displayed any mental issues in the past? How old is this person?

Long term benzo use can be an excruciating experience and takes a long time to recover after you stop taking it. The withdrawal from these drugs, even after medically aided withdrawal treatments, will leave a person very anxious and possibly paranoid for quite a few months. Acute withdrawal can even induce psychosis. It's possible this person is experiencing withdrawal and it's coming out as paranoia. Some level of paranoia would be expected if someone was taking benzos for 10+ years and then stopped.

It's also possible this person has had mental illness already, and with the drugs removed it is becoming more obvious.

However, you should keep an eye on this. It could be that they are experiencing symptoms of psychosis/schizophrenia/bipolar episode.

One of the most common symptoms of psychosis is that a person experiences delusional paranoia. Themes such as: people or inanimate things are watching or stalking them, that people or technology are reading their minds or implanting thoughts in their mind, or that they themselves can read other people's thoughts, or that some nefarious government entity is harassing them with technology or by other odd means.
