Health Microdosing is no more effective than placebo

I've always suspected this. Microdosing was always highly overrated IMO, just like the CBD craze.

I always had suspicion that the benefits were psychological in nature if anything... I mean, how the hell do you quantify things like "a minor boost to creativity"?
Microdosing worked for me!

yeah i microdosed with lsd for ~ 1.5 months in November 2020.

it helped me cope with a stress induced depressive episode. had early morning classes and worked late nights doing physical labor. i was simply exhausted. so not really a 'spiritual crisis' that the LSD helped me with.

taking 5-10 ug every 3 days helped a lot with mood and exhaustion. but towards the end i started feeling slightly anxious and delusional. nothing crazy though. in fact, my last day microdosing was the day of my intro to neuroscience final... i got a 98% 🤓

i just knew it wasn't sustainable long term. i don't really see it as different to taking an SSRI. both provide a sense of well being, stimulation, better presence in the moment, etc. lsd you just don't have to take everyday

i suppose other psychedelics like mushrooms might be a different story but i can't imagine it would be terribly distinct.

When you become tolerant to LSD you can take very large doses - 1000 ug or more for example - with few perceptible psychedelic effects though sometimes physiological effects common to lysergamides like vasoconstriction.

So when tolerant I’ve wondered whether say a standard 100 ug trip is effectively a ‘microdose’ and whether it has benefits even at sub-perceptible levels of psychedelic effect.

In the past I’ve thought those doses every 2 daus or so reduces brain fog and emotional effects from stimulant binges - but maybe it was placebo effect.

when you are tolerant of LSD then microdoses and regular doses cause no cognitive shift even if they do cause some smooth muscle contraction or vasoconstriction.
it's a damn waste of good acid.

I think psychedelics have a way to varrying effects to make blanket statements like this.

I think there is no doubt that a microdose is at least active in the sense that there is a effect that most people have.
(Ive accidentally microdosed a few Times)

So depending on the activity it can def enhance or change your perspective somehow.

But honestly i think most people misunderstand how science works.
Its become such a shitshow filed with clickbait and politics.

One or a couple studies like this is far from enough data to come to a solid conclusion.
Even the article mentions that this is what he thinks ATM with what they have been able to test.

SSRI gave you stimulation? I just slept and felt utterly exhausted and got fat on them.

Hello all, I see some familiar usernames on here. Welcome family. I intend on making a microdosing thread and describing my own effects and benefits from it. I think it'd be helpful to provide a sort of retort to this study by briefly describing my experience with it. I struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and I can carry on daily life activities without anyone doing a double take. Although, certain things are enough for me to compulsively correct them in external reality so the thought leaves my head and becomes an action. Face down pennies, pole-splitting, stepping on cracks, and the organized order of some objects and tools. I microdised a sub-perceptible dose of mushrooms for a month and a half while working at Round Table, and I had been able for 6+ months after to realize that a thought I have to correct a spatula so it's strait and upright for example, is not something I need to do. That was when I first noticed a change. For the first time in my life, I've been able to recognize my own compulsive thought train and stop it before it becomes an action. Wow. My entire life most years have been filled with this or that medication, and the only thing that helped was microdosing 3 days on, 4 days off for a month and a half. Currently reading a book on LSD microdosing.

Just mixed up a new batch of 80 minidoses or 160 microdoses using 20 1-plsd blotters (cut into small pieces for easier solubility) and 80 droppers of distilled water in a clean brown glass bottle.
I am shaking it for the next couple of hours on and off.
then back in business for the rest of the year.
