SWIM was on 80mg of methadone for approximately two months then came off of it. SWIMs opiate of choice prior to methadone maintenance was oxymorphone (10mg IR administered Intramuscularly). Prior to methadone, SWIM could have a nice steady high which provided superpowers to work 12 hours per day with only 30-40mg total (10mg IM 3x times daily). After being on methadone for only two months, then being off of it completely for two months l, SWIM decided to have some phone with some oxymorphone IRs, but discovered that even administration of doses previously unimagined prior to methadone (40-50mg IR all at once; and even 50mg IVed) SWIM literally couldn't feel a single inkling of a high.

SWIM did extensive research through volumes of scholarly journals, but could never find any explanation even remotely approaching the subject. Has anyone experienced this or knows someone who has? Also, after methadone, SWIM can only get a buzz from heroin (HCl white powder from the east coast) and only when approximately 10 bags are IVed at once. Tragic considering SWIM never liked heroin due to it's unenergetic high and economically wasteful short duration.

P.S. SWIM never used opiates to nod off into unconsciousness, rather he used them to obtain a nice buzz that allowed him to functionally operate at normal and even superior levels, but ironically, of the plethora of opiates SWIM had the luck to try, nothing raised SWIMs tolerance and forced him into having to use massive dosages just to achieve a buzz.

No use of SWIM. I would reword your post without it, but I'm not sure this is even appropriate material for TDS. You can try again, without SWIM, in OD, but I can't guarantee your post won't be moved or closed. There isn't really going to be a clear scientific answer here, as there are far too many variables and it is all based on anecdotes.

Based on the half-life of methadone, I would think you would have to take very high doses of methadone for it to still impact tolerance 2 months after cessation. It wouldn't really be "blocking" your high either, as I don't think it'd be possible for methadone to still be actively binding to opioid receptors with a higher affinity and in a great enough quantity to prevent other opioids from binding.
