"Methadone"/"Methadose"/"Dolophine" any difference(s) between the 3?

this is a weird ? but i've ben very curious about for years. is there any difference (acitive/inactive-inert) in "Methadone", "Methadose" and "Dolophine"? is one/both/all a brand name and/or generic/chemical name? the main reason i ask this now, considering i used to think they were all the exact same damn thing, is this IDIOT friend of mine IVs his liquid dose from one treatment center. he recently switched treatment centers and says the methadone liquid dose is the same color @ the new clinic, but is thicker, more syrupy and kind of jams up/crystalized his syringe esp. when blood gets in it making it possible, but a lot more difficult, to shoot. i KNOW this is a harm reduction site and i would NEVER inject methdone or EVER suggest anyone else do something so absolutely dmamging and downright stupid, but, my main question is: "is the ANY difference AT ALL between Methadone, Methadose or Dolophine whether liquid or tablet, even though in this situational example, i'm specifically referring to using the liquid 10mg/1mL concentrate, but i want to know if there is any difference whatsoever in the three. thanks for you patients guys. :)

Nope, they are all the same thing. At least when it comes to active ingredients (in this case, its, well, methadone). Different formulations are going to have different fillers and inactive ingredients, however.

They are all methadone hydrochloride w/ brand specific inactives. Dolophine was the original name, not named after Adolph Hitler contrary to urban legend.

edit: ninja'd

"Methadone", "Methadose" and "Dolophine" are all the same active ingredient: methadone. "Methadose" is just a brand name, and "Dolophine" is the old name for methadone. They are all methadone hydrochloride. The differences between the different forms of methadone is what the inactive ingredients in it are: fillers, binders, sweeteners, water, etc.

If your friend is noticing a difference between 2 types of methadone it's not because it's not the same drug, it's because the added ingredients are different. Likely the more "syrupy" one has more sugar or a different kind of sweetener. But yeah, he should definitely not be injecting his liquid methadone.

For some reason, in these parts, people will call methadone "meth" instead of 'done or just methadone, for example. It's strange since meth (crystal) is also getting big here. Lol, it irritated someone on MMT so much that they sent in an editorial to the newspaper explaining how meth refers to methamphetamine and not methadone, because even the paper started calling methadone "meth" (lol we once had a headline about "Meth Clinics Becoming more Common" =D). The editorial actually got published :D.

"Drink" is actually the most common slang term here for it. Not "drank" just "drink".

I've noticed that here too. I actually had a friend who thought that because I was on methadone maintenance that meant I was taking prescribed methamphetamines every day, lol. I had to try to explain to her that the prefix "meth" was just a reference to the chemical process/composition containing a methyl group IIRC and didn't denote any similarities between drugs or their effects. Unfortunately some people not familiar with drugs seem to be associating crystal meth and methadone simply because they both start with meth and people erroneously refer to methadone as "meth" occasionally.

Here the most common slang term is "juice", but most people seem to just say methadone. (We never call it Methadose here, not sure if it's even the same brand).

People just call it methadone here, haha. Slang: M10. Not sure if this is for methadone 10mg or for Mallinckrodt methadone 10mg, but they're usually Mallis unless it's liquid and people just call that methadose.

I've never really used slang for methadone before... I've just called them ten tabs because they're tablets and 10mg, hah.

I've also had methadose and Roxanne methadone it's all the same, methadone hydrochloride.

All the same. Slang/branding's a bitch, it's why we try to cut down on it and use generic terms on bluelight. Closed since there isn't any more discussion to be had here.
