I guess it just depends on how strong you feel your chances are to going back. Anxiety is a major concern and benzos can help with this. But this can also just lead to another addiction.

Staying busy, keeping active and trying to constantly fill your idle time with something other than thinking about drug use is probably the best solution. Read a book or play a video game. Just adjust to life without drugs as your main source for entertainment.

Give yourself time... it's a slow process.

How long were you using, and about how much/often?

It does take time there is no bandaid stay busy listen to music and another way to get over only mental part is too be happy you dont have to deal with the physical part, take one day at a time!.

Put your time and energy into what makes you happy and what you want to give meaning to your life. That of course includes the obvious like financial resources and time, but it also includes the focus of our attention. Spend more time thinking about what you love than staying well, from withdrawal that is. The more time and energy your devote to healthy pursuits and objectives in life, by definition the less time and energy you'll have available for focusing on whatever is unhealthy in your life.

Also, consider getting together with a psychiatrist and starting an antidepressant. That seems to help out a lot of people coming off tramadol.

Where are you in this process OP? How long have you been using and what are your reasons for wanting to start into recovery from harmful substance use?
