What was this topic made for again? Oh yes.. memory (j/k) eh? Do any of you have a good suggestion for me to combat the memory loss of my mj habit? ive tried even quitting for periods of like 3 moths (im only a weekend smoker anyways) but to no avail... any type of medz i could take that would really help my memory would be very much appreciated, im planning on buying some and i figured you guys here would most likely know best :)

some people say this lecithin shit is the bomb, though i've never used it. do a search for better results

Are you really having memory problems? Can you elaborate a little bit? I only ask because I've been a weekend-only smoker for years and I haven't really noticed very much cognitive difference at all. Only when I was smoking many times a week was it a real problem. Of course, the day after I'll be a bit monged out but it isn't bad.

Try keeping in good shape and drink a lot of water, it seems to flush out your system and a lot of the "head clog" people get from smoking (and drinking) is actually dehydration.

Could you explain how great the memory loss is? I have never heard of just a weekend smoker having troubles with memory, but I guess it could be possible. I do not know of any medicines that could help you with it and I don't really know any way for you stop it.

Abstinance has been shown to reverse memory deficits... 28 days according to Pope et al., 2001...

I think maybe you're just expecting memory problems, and so you perceive them.

You may want to look into some nootropics, such as piracetam. Many users report enhanced memory and cognitive function while using nootropics, and they are not for recreational use in and of themselves.

check em out at Erowid, under smart drugs.

exactly.. i find i have few memory problems, even when I'm stoned. Occasionally I'll forget exactly what I was talking about for a moment, but that usually the worst of it. I think what happens when you're stoned is that you end up not paying attention as much, so you never really knew something in the first place, as opposed to knowing and then fogetting it.

Smoke a little less so it's easier to pay attention and see how it goes

as for lecithin, i dunno where anyone got this idea that i will help with memory, and i wish people would forget it =D
Animals treated with lecithin or choline seemed to have fewer cognitive difficulties later in life. However, no human studies have tested whether lecithin or choline may prevent dementia, and the few studies evaluating the use of lecithin or choline supplementation in individuals with dementia showed poor or variable results. One small study reported that lecithin seemed to improve memory in Alzheimer's disease patients, but later studies found no such improvement. Lecithin or choline supplementation does not appear to increase memory for adults without dementia.

Well, to elaborate on my memory problems, we will go over something in Trig class for example, so i got home that night, go to sleep, wake up... and not be able to recall what we did yesterday in class.... before i started smoking i could remember in cronological order everything i did in every class in the past 2 weeks usually :/ And thanks all who replied so far :) ill defninitely check both those products out

I have tried a Lechithin regiment and it did absolutely nothing.

However, only after 3 days of using Piracetam I can already tell this stuff *really* works. Even after my first dose I noticed quite a change in mindstate... I was clear-headed, had amazing recall, and sensory stimulus (like smells) were brining back memories I had long thought forgotten.

Good stuff ;)

Well, I have been reading up on this so called "miracle product" 2-dimethylaminoethanol or DMEA... Anyone here who has tried it care to fill me in?

Damn, I've NEVER been able to do that, smoking or not. One other thought, I have come to notice the gaps in my abilities/consciousness more profoundly when stoned, but it's alway been my opinion that those gaps were always there and I was ignoring them before.

If you're getting stoned before class, or even were really stoned the night before, then the problem is that you're slightly high in class and not focusing. I always found math/logic harder while stoned, compared to creative activities. Trig isn't exactly something most people want to focus on anyway.... If this is what's happening, just stop smoking before boring classes.

One other thought, drug-wise, is that you may not be getting good sleep, I often have somewhat disturbed sleep when smoking. You could look into melatonin.

But thats the thing, im not smoking during week/when i have class, only usually on friday nights then use the rest of the weekend to fuly recover before class again

i use dmae daily in combination with lecithin and vinpocetine and it has helped my memory and concentration problems.
Nw i just gotta get some piracetam

start writing stuff down... if its not important enough for you to make that effort, its probably just not important enough to uhh.... something........ jk...... if anyone has that bad of a memory problem they should be on drugs to at least have an excuse
