Are there any opiate agonist effects from papaverine alone? I ask since some of the listed side effects include constipation and sedation etc which all look like it is so.
Just curious if someone has actual subjective experience, this is purely curiosity.

Nope. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction among other things. It does not produce mu agonist effects (no euphoria, warmth, nodding, etc). One of the many alkaloids of Opium that are worthless recreationally.

Papaverine was the most common medication used in the treatment of kidney pains in Eastern Europe and it still is used just not as much as it has just recently been replaced with other medications similar in effects.

I mean, in the UK they are legal, so it is a non-issue,
but most people wouldn't have a clue that those flowers were opium poppies.
that includes 90% of the people growing them.

In the summer, people have busted me harvesting poppies from their front gardens.
a lot of them didnt believe me that they were growing opium =P
but they were =]
to be honest i dont even know what they look like fresh so i wouldnt know...but ive had a flower box on the side of my house that gets over grow every year im thinking of just droppin some there.

any suggestions on when the best time to plant ?

Poppy pods are very versatile, and hence are capable of growing in many environments. As long as you live somewhere without extreme conditions (Extreme cold, heat, etc.., you should be able to plant them at any time of year. Ideal would be around spring in most regions.

chicago cant be very tempermental i mean 2 days ago it was 60 something degrees tonite its snowing

very low maintenance i take it since they are so versatile and can take over a garden

I am trying to purify pod putty or tea to the extent of a potent blend of residual morphia and codia alkaloids left behind to form a smokable powder/tar substance...

1.What do you think about the use of Paraffin to de-fatten the stuff...It is supposed to engulf a bulk amount of the water insolubles such as plant sugars/fats..?(similar to petroleum ether but very inexpensive and available)

2.Is the addition of calcium hydroxide or calcium sulphate necessary or beneficial to the final product.

3.What is the solubility of morphia/codia alk's in hot water vs. cold water vs. isoprophyl alcohol??

4.I realize that ice cold water will draw out more codia alk' content when hot water ~80 degrees Celsius~ will draw out more of a morphia alk content..Is there a way to net both...ie. What if cold water is used first to get codia content out then the plant material is left and undergoes a hot water A/B extraction?

I plan to get pods soon from a local flower shop...They are bulk and pretty affordable(25 med. sized for 7.25$) (for decorative purposes only!)

I want to use hot water to draw out morphine content...Add paraffin..Filter using coffee filter to separate water soluble liquids from bulk plant material...Then freeze the liquid solution until 2/3 of it turns to ice...The ice portion should trap some plant fats/sugars..The solution left over should be pretty pure and then evaporated on electric stove to get final product which should be a smokable tar/powder containing pretty decent ratio of psychotropic opiate/opioid alk's...

Does anyone have any process they use to get a relatively pure smokable end product??I want to be able to have more of a controlled dose+shorten duration+possible ability to sell it+smoking is fun!(jk)...

Really want some educated responses as i haven't been able to find any(edit: any>many) in other forums?

POSTED IN SOME OTHER FORUMS W/No Avail

I wonder this too, and in the case of calcium carbonate... how many mg should one theoretically use in their tea to convert it to calcium morphinate?

I've read that a lot of people use their coffee maker to produce the tea and I was just wondering if that water would be too hot and degrade some of the alkaloids? Same thing with heating the mixture up but not boiling to reduce the liquid. Can anyone with a lot of experience with tea help? Thanks.

I've been using the drip-coffee-maker-method for awhile now just because of the convenience of it. IME you have to run it through once, then put the product through it again to get the most out of it. I'm not sure if it loses potency this way, but its always worked for me, so methinks even if it does lose potency it isn't to any significant degree.

Help with poppy tea

Ok so I overheard my neighbor talking to my mom about planting illegal opium poppies in her front yard. I plan to take some of them to make some poppy tea with. I had a few questions: 1. What part of the flower is the pod? Like how do I identify it lol? And how many pods should I use for a decent high? I have no tolerance by the way. And I weigh 240 pounds

as far as I know she can plant any type of poppy for floral use. That just makes you a thief.

Just order em online like the rest of us, or grow your own.

Winter

1) Don't steal your neighbor's flowers.

2) Google poppy pods or papaver somniferum. The pod part looks fairly obvious.

3) We can't tell you what kind of dose to use, we don't know how potent these pods will be. Start off with a couple and work your way up. Be aware pod tea takes a long time to come on though.

4) Don't steal them.

Merging into the poppy pod mega thread.

Shiny pods

Greetings, been keeping an eye on this site for a while. finally registered.

I have tried tea for the 1st time a month or so ago. had "small giants", a very nice high.
Thing is, a few of the pods were "shiny" so i didn't use them. The vender said no pesticides were used and they are all natural.
Is it unusual to have the odd shiny pod in amongst unshiny ones?
I'm thinking of ordering more, this time "large giants". only im a tad worried more of these shiney ones will come through.

Do you guys reckon they could cause me harm?

I would try washing them off would good ol water and dish soap.

If still shinny I wouldn't try it. though WD's can cause crazy shit to happen.

Be safe with the pods bro, they'll own you without you knowing.

Ok, thanks for the reply, but just to make sure, can u see how the top ones are more shiny than the ones below.
I only had the 1 like that last time. Would you say its a lacquer of sum type, or am i been paranoid as usual, lol.

And i appreciate the advise, they are quite "moreish" i can say, so best not do this shit too often

I've had orders like that, they are fine. Just some quirk of harvest time or drying.
Why would a vendor who knows exactly what their customers are doing with the pods randomly put lacquered pods in, doesn't make sense.

^^those pods look kinda nasty :O) good luck though..!

Man Im kinda upset... I had a really nice place to get strong potent poppy seed tea... but just lately they changed them out in all the stores in the area to these shitty shitty grey ones.

And they have had these grey ones before... Im really hoping that this is only temporary... but have a feeling that it could be permanent. I was using poppy seed tea as a way of controlling severe chronic pain--and I have never had withdrawal symptoms from it.. when I would go off of it the pain would just come back.

there is no asking for sources on here. please be careful with what you ask.

ok those laquered looking pods are weird. never seen that.

anyways, im here to dispell ALL poppy pod tea myths.

water
Ok, first of all the calcium carbonate thing is absoutlety essential if you want a strong tea. Just buy a Calcium vitamin from a store, and break it up. The water should look kinda milky but alot clearer than skim milk.

Then heat this calcium/water untill it comes to a rolling boil. You dont have to leave it boiling for any amount of time, just get it there.

pods
for the pods, they should be light tan, but can be darker brown (think the colors of parchment) or even grey/brown. It's far better to get them from a grower who knows the intended use, as they will be picked at the right time and the seeds will have fallen off the pod. This is important, because if the seeds are still clinging to the side of the pod then the tea will taste horrible. I throw away pods with seeds still attached.

Crack open pods, pour out the seeds, then crush pods. the finer they are crushed, the better; but i get away with putting them in a cup and cutting them with scissors until they are all about 1/8" to 1/32". measure around 20g of crushed pod material.

cooking
as soon as the calcium/water is brought to a rolling boil, bring it off the stove. you may accidentally evaporate all of your calcium out of the aqua. then pour the crushed pods in the water and then put it on a low heat. On my stove this is at like 3-3.5. But for you this could be anywhere. If you can leave the pods on the eye, and put a lid on the pot and leave it for 10 minutes, and if the water isn't boiling, the heat is just right. It should be boiling by 20 miutes later though. *this is with a lid on the pot though... You dont want the water to boil MUCH with the pods in there, it might burn up the morphine. A little boiling wont kill it, and will reduce the amount of nasty ass tea you have to drink later.

straining
after you leave the pod/water mixture on for about 20 minutes its time to take it off. get a bowl and a mesh strainer, and put a paper towel in the metal strainer. I use a strainer with holes around 1/8" big. Put the strainer lined with paper towels ontop of the bowl and pour the pod/water mixture in. Let it drain for about 20 seconds, then press the pods, getting all the water out. This is VERY important, because it breaks up the remaining plant material releasing all the morphine trapped in there. This step here makes the tea alot, alot, alot stronger. Then let cool, and add about a teaspoon of sugar, or just sugar to taste.

Enjoy! =D

wat about ice tek or using paraffin...seems like noone knows how to purify the puddy ... perhaps to a smokable form, thatd be nice

but ^^that helped with the calcium carbonate question alot
