Mental Health Medical Marijuana and Seroquel? Risperidone?

Hey all
I'm new to this site and just wanted some feedback from anyone who is taking medication for mental health (seroquel and risperidone in my case) and smoking/using weed? Is this a bad idea? I'm wondering if there are any possible side effects that might be dangerous. Any input would be great... thanks!

A lot of it depends on the strain and the amount you use. In the past I've mixed cannabis and seroquel without a problem, though I was using a strain that was geared for pain relief and wasn't very psychoactive. Never taken risperidone so I can't comment on that. Obviously, using too much cannabis can aggravate your existing mental health issues, and certain strains will be worse than others. It's kind of hard to say with certainty, but in general, know your strains and stay away from ones that aren't good for your condition, and stay away from really strong strains that don't have any medicinal value like Girl Scout Cookies.
