Media Bias Thread

LOL, Rose McGowan is so far gone neither side points to her for a credible comment on their views. Her and Alyssa Milano have survived a loss of cognitive thought for several years.

That's true but I would be incredibly surprised if Milano started criticizing the Democrat party

Conservative Superstar CANDACE OWENS Is Suspended from Twitter! – After Challenging Tyrannical Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer!

They're scared of the power of the people. Same reason they censored the David Icke/London Real interview - he was pointing out that there's 65 million citizens of the UK and only a handful of people implementing the totalitarian tiptoe.

Chuck Todd on NBC's program Meet the Press plays only the first two lines of the clip from Barr = "Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history" -- and then immediately followed it with this comment: “I was struck … by the cynicism of the answer. It’s a correct answer. But he’s the attorney general. He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that, yeah, this is a political job.”

The full quote from Barr =Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history. But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.

NBC's response when called out for this blatant editing and fake news? A tweet response of “You’re correct. Earlier today, we inadvertently and inaccurately cut short a video clip of an interview with AG Barr before offering commentary and analysis."

No f'n way that type of deceit is inadvertent.

Both clips shown back to back:

it doesn't look great but... that they cut the piece short is a simple fact. that they did not do it inadvertently is a subjective opinion.

if it was deliberate, it's deceitful behavior.

they did admit it was inaccurate and owned "The remaining clip included important remarks from the attorney general that we missed, and we regret the error."

president trump and his administration could learn from that. it would be great if we held both to the same standard.

alasdair

if it was deliberate, it's deceitful behavior.

They cut it right where Barr states "But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice." and inserted their opinion "He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law." How can that direct contradiction NOT be deliberate? You think Todd and the NBC crew never saw the rest of the clip?

as i said, it doesn't look good but i don't know why they did it because i don't have all the information and i prefer to not assume.

i get that things can look very black and white in the moment but, where humans are involved, it's rarely that simple.

alasdair

Wow you sure are willing to give extraordinarily charitable interpretations of intent to people whom you politically align with.

president trump and his administration could learn from that. it would be great if we held both to the same standard.
It's not just Trump who could learn a lot about double standards.

Blatant bias and censorship

Tucker Carlson said:
"The following content has been identified by the YouTube community (whatever that is) as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences". By offensive they mean that the Left doesn't like it. And that is the new standard.

Project Veritas with another whistleblower video.
This time proving what we already knew - Facebook unfairly targets and censors conservatives, even when posts don't deserve to be taken down, and they allow far-left stuff to remain on the site even when it sometimes violates their standards.

Wow they actually got an employee admitting that FB allows anti-white racist rhetoric and goes after censoring Christianity.

regarding the source of this article:

In review, the Ron Paul Institute reports news from a Libertarian perspective that frequently utilizes loaded emotional wording such as this: Incredible Disappearing Coronavirus – The Narrative Has Failed. Although they often rail against socialism they also frequently report negatively on Neo-Conservatives such as this: The Media Has Conveniently Forgotten George W. Bush’s Many Atrocities. This story is sourced to the factually Mixed Mises Institute.

Editorially, the Ron Paul Institute advocates for libertarian policy such as free-market capitalism, limited military intervention, marijuana legalization, return to the gold standard, and deregulation. When it comes to science they often deviate from the consensus regarding human-influenced climate change Can the Fed Save Us from Climate Change?. Further, they occasionally publish unsubstantiated conspiracy claims such as the Syria chemical attack being a false flag operation as well as promoting the Coronavirus as a hoax (See below). In general, the Ron Paul Institute reports news with a strong libertarian bias that is not always factual.

Failed Fact Checks

Overall, we rate the Ron Paul Institute Right Biased and borderline questionable based on the promotion of right-leaning conspiracy theories. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to a failed fact, the occasional use of poor sources, and holding positions contrary to scientific consensus. (D. Van Zandt 5/3/2017) Updated (6/5/2020)

I really don't care for your biased and deceptive liberal fact-checkers.
If you can't actually dispute what he's writing and instead try to demonize the source - then you have no argument, you're most likely a follower of radical left-wing/censorious ideology and you are more than likely wrong about everything as once again, you have no argument.

The hilarious thing about this is that Ron Paul was the last legitimately good choice for president. One of the few politicians who reached the top and still spoke sense.

A liberal explains why he's voting for Trump

Extremist liberals want to start race issues before the election. In reality 99% of Americans are good people who don't give a shit what race anyone is. Americans as a whole also don't care about the media's shitty race war or thought policing. People are generally able to discern extremist views and more and more I see people acknowledging all of this is because this is an election year and the left is terrified of losing yet again with another snoozer candidate like Joe Biden.

shocking...

Tucker Carlson's top writer resigns after secretly posting racist and sexist remarks in online forum

The top writer for Fox News host Tucker Carlson has for years been using a pseudonym to post bigoted remarks on an online forum that is a hotbed for racist, sexist, and other offensive content, CNN Business learned this week.

Just this week, the writer, Blake Neff, responded to a thread started by another user in 2018 with the subject line, "Would u let a JET BLACK congo n****er do lasik eye surgery on u for 50% off?" Neff wrote, "I wouldn't get LASIK from an Asian for free, so no." (The subject line was not censored on the forum.) On June 5, Neff wrote, "Black doods staying inside playing Call of Duty is probably one of the biggest factors keeping crime down."

On June 24, Neff commented, "Honestly given how tired black people always claim to be, maybe the real crisis is their lack of sleep." On June 26, Neff wrote that the only people who care about changing the name of the NFL's Washington Redskins are "white libs and their university-'educated' pets."

And over the course of five years, Neff has maintained a lengthy thread in which he has derided a woman and posted information about her dating life that has invited other users to mock her and invade her privacy. There has at times also been overlap between some material he posted or saw on the forum and Carlson's show.

CNN Business contacted Neff for comment Thursday night. After he or someone acting on his behalf passed that email to Fox News spokespeople, a network spokesperson on Friday morning told CNN Business that Neff had resigned. A Fox News spokesperson said on Friday that Carlson could not be reached for comment. Neff did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

In a memo sent to employees Saturday afternoon, after this story was first published, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace condemned "horrific racist, misogynistic and homophobic behavior."

"Neff's abhorrent conduct on this forum was never divulged to the show or the network until Friday, at which point we swiftly accepted his resignation," Scott and Wallace wrote. "Make no mistake, actions such as his cannot and will not be tolerated at any time in any part of our work force."

Scott and Wallace said that Carlson would address the matter on his Monday show.

Neff worked at Fox News for nearly four years and was Carlson's top writer. Previously, he was a reporter at The Daily Caller, a conservative news outlet that Carlson co-founded. In a recent article in the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, Neff said, "Anything [Carlson is] reading off the teleprompter, the first draft was written by me." He also acknowledged the show's influence, telling the magazine, "We're very aware that we do have that power to sway the conversation, so we try to use it responsibly."

When asked in a 2018 appearance on Fox's "The Five" about the writing process for his show, Carlson said he spends hours working on scripts, but referred to Neff by name, saying he was a "wonderful writer" and acknowledging his assistance. And Carlson credited Neff in the acknowledgments of his book, "Ship of Fools," for providing research. In the acknowledgments, Carlson said that Neff and two others who helped with the book "work on and greatly improve our nightly show on Fox."

During the years that Neff wrote for him at Fox, Carlson has hosted one of the most influential shows on cable news. In the last quarter, Carlson had not only the highest-rated program in cable news, but the highest-rated show in the history of cable news. Carlson also counts President Trump among his most loyal viewers. On multiple occasions, the President has tweeted out videos of Carlson's program. Which is to say, the scripts that Neff likely helped write and shape were being shared by the President of the United States.

@JGrimez
Linking those long videos really doesn't make anyone watch them.
It would be better if you write stuff yourself and argue the things yourself. People just aren't interested in watching 20 minute video about how some liberal is going to vote for Trump now.
Write your own stuff, with thought, soul and power put to it.
That's how you get people to actually listen. You should actually listen to them too, and this advice goes for everyone.
Aim for the truth, not victory in argument or conversation.
Everyone should expect that someone you're speaking with might teach you something and he/she 100% knows something you don't.
@mal3volent
And what's the point of that? He resigned.
Should Tucker be canceled for that? Is he responsible for actions of somebody else?
If that was a response to JGrimez, it was really bad one.
