Hi everyone, around 5 weeks ago I overdosed on MDMA at a festival. I have taken MDMA half a dozen times previously with no side effects. However ever since this day I have been suffering from severe anxiety and depression. On two occasions throughout the 5 weeks I have had good days where I feel like I am close to normal, but I have ended up relapsing and falling into the same cycle of hopelessness on both occasions. Has anyone else who has been through this fully recovered? Should I consider using anti depressants to help combat the depression? I already eat well and exercise regularly so any advice on what I should do would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the club.

Yes you will get through this. There are a lot of informative people on here who can private message for advice. There's also an MDMA recovery thread a bit further down from this one so be sure to give that a look.

Relapsing is part of the process of recovery and if you're having good days or moments of normalcy then you are on the right track.

Best advice I was given for my own struggle was time. As the saying goes; "time heals all wounds". Hang in there bro.

Thanks mate great to speak to someone else who has had a similar experience. What is the stage of your recovery? Anyone else I can speak to about it would be great in terms of reassurance

I'm still in recovery myself but I no longer suffer with the anxiety/panic attacks and now I just have some of the lingering effects with memory, derealisation etc. So already I can tell you I've gotten much better than than I was when I started. I'm about 3 months and a bit in. But already starting to feel that energy and motivation come back.

It feels like forever but it's really a tiny time frame within your life. Don't worry brother. Keep doing what you're doing and ride it out for a bit. It will get better.
