Details: Been on the SSRI about 2 months, maybe less. 40mg dose. (Citalopram, for anxiety, not depression) I've had them in the past, a couple years ago for about a year with no results at all, and after stopping them abruptly I had no side effects at all. I actually was wondering if my doc gave me sugar pills or something..
Height, 5'7-8"
Weight, about 160lbs

I've done some research and found that if you're on an SSRI and you roll, you won't feel any affects at all really.

My SSRI does nothing for me, and I don't get any withdrawal effects when I stop taking it (so maybe it's just not affecting my seratonin receptors in my brain anyway?)
So, how long do you think I need to stop taking them before I can roll properly?

I'm going out on saturday and would REALLY like to roll on some MDMA, I stopped taking my SSRIs this morning.
I've googled the shit out of this and it seems to range from 3 days to 6 months before you start to be able to feel the MDMA, so which is it? And how much should I take? I have 14 caplets of about 100mg.

*Again, remember that I said these SSRIs don't really affect me at all so maybe they're not fucking with my serotonin receptors anyway? Some SSRIs work for some people and not others.*

I could drop one now, but all i'm doing is sitting in the house all day so that's not going to be very fun, I just don't wanna go out saturday and think fuck yeah gonna roll and then nothing happens.

So basically. how long do I need to stop the SSRI before I can roll, and is there any chemical in natural food I can eat that might help my brain re-adjust to normal seratonin uptake levels?
Anyone with experience on the issue?

Weeks. 14 days at the LEAST, I say.

Not rolling isn't the problem you should be worried about.... at all. SSRIs and MDMA can cause Serotonin Syndrome.. a possibly fatal condition caused by reversal of the uptake receptors and release of serotonin....

So unless you want to risk the chance of dying over a roll that might not even do anything, I recommend against it. If you MUST take that chance, than do it after 2 weeks.... when all the SSRIs have left your system.

And use the damn search engine... I swear I've answered 3 of these exact threads in the past day.

I differ with the above answer, I've been on SSRI's for the past couple months and took molly 5 or 6 six times, went back on them for about a month took some molly and drank and had a severe mixed episode but dropped the next day with boyfriend and had an AMAZING amazing trip with him, it brought us together after me going crazy the night before and we had an amazing time, I really have no idea why it worked this time but it was quite pure and made me reailze quite a few things, it was crazy. In a good way.

He did the same amount and also had an incredible trip and wasn't on anything else, we smoked buds and cigs through the night.

^ Well hey... it's only your life that's at risk.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serotonin_syndrome#Cause

Serotonin syndrome is a potentially life-threatening adverse drug reaction that may occur following therapeutic drug use, inadvertent interactions between drugs, overdose of particular drugs, or the recreational use of certain drugs. Serotonin syndrome is not an idiosyncratic drug reaction; it is a predictable consequence of excess serotonergic activity at central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral serotonin receptors. For this reason, some experts strongly prefer the terms serotonin toxicity or serotonin toxidrome because these more accurately reflect the fact that it is a form of poisoning.

I know from experience that you likely will not roll, and wont be able to for a while even if you stopped your SSRI (took me a couple months, if not longer, to actually roll again). Even if you don't feel the effects, the SSRI is still effecting your serotonin receptors. A lot of people don't feel the effects on SSRIs. I was on celexa for 'anxiety' for a short period and I could not roll *at all*... not even a tiny bit. I decided to stop taking it personally because I didn't want to be on something daily for something I got only every once in a while... besides, I went in to see the doctor about sleep paralysis and he diagnosed it as anxiety. Not the case. Anyways, at this point, I think you need to be really serious with yourself. If you're struggling with depression, as hard as it is to accept, using MDMA might not be the best choice, at least for the time being. Also, there is a possible (though admittedly slight) increased risk of serotonin syndrome with taking MDMA while on SSRIs. So, if you do some, and don't feel it, don't keep taking more trying to feel it because you wont and it can be dangerous.

Wait about a month after you stop taking your SSRI before you roll. Safety plus you might as well wait to have a good roll than waste your shit on something that just makes you feel poo-y.
