I know MDMA has had quite a bit of therapeutic success in, among other things, treatment of PTSD. It was actually approved by the FDA for this as late as 2001, though it remains Schedule I in the U.S. Are any of you guys aware of any studies, or even anecdotal evidence of things like bk-MDMA (methlyone), MBDB, MDAI, or even perhaps methylenedioxypyrovalerone being used for treatment of PTSD? If so, successfully? Links would be much appreciated.

Also I'm curious if there's any reliable info on the neurotoxicity of bk-MDMA, MBDB, etc, as I know some other cathinones can be quite nasty.

Interesting thread idea.

Personally, I've found bk-MDMA to be quite therapeutic at times. :)

bk-MBDB never really did much. It actually made me feel depressed while high. It also gave me some not so pleasant reactions. The worst was dosing some a couple hours after bk-MDMA. I was up for about 40 hours with a racing heart rate and generally anxious, scattered sketchyness.

I don't think I'll ever dose it again. I do enjoy methylone once in a while though.

My most recent methylone experience was preloaded with piracetam and it really made a difference, a very positive one. :)

There was also no hangover at all. Usually methylone does give me some hangover but with piracetam it was non-existent.

MDA seems to have some kind of therapudic reaction with me like lucy does sometimes. One of the reasons i like it so much. Though i would not really consider eve a analogue. never had a chance yet to try Bk, methylone. I figure it has something to do with 5HT receptor activity.

There was a shooting at my school a couple years ago (Northern Illinois University) and the day it happened, I received an order of methylone in the mail. It seemed like we were supposed to eat it that night and me and my buddies had a very therapeutic experience, more so than I have ever had with MDMA, and helped us channel our emotions about the shooting into a positive way. We successfully blocked the Westboro Baptist Church from demonstrating on Campus the next weekend (heres a link if you don't know who these disgusting people are), and one of my buddies started a campus organization to prevent violence. This was all catalyzed by our methylone experience which I feel helped us get past the shooting quicker than others.

hmmm... i hadn't heard really anything negative about MBDB before, definitely good to know. I've read wonders about piracetam, thinkin about investing in some when the ol' student loan money comes in.

Anyone know of any studies using any of these substances? I browsed through pubmed the other day, but didn't see all that much. MDPV (MDPK) seems to be available these days, but I see very little usage reports. Is it thought to have any therapeutic potential?

Wow, that's sounds like a pretty interesting experience. You didn't by chance write a trip report or record things such as dosage etc?

Id say MDPV had very little theraputic potential (about as much as say amphetamine) as once you get up to an alpha-propyl group as in MDPV, the entactogenic activity drops off to almost zero.

Of the MDMA/MDA analogues, I always thought IAP had some potential, but it seems I'm in the minority as a lot of people really didn't seem to like IAP at all (it has more dopaminergic activity tham MDAI or the dihydrobenzofuran that some people have assayed, so it's close to MDA in activity profile than either of those)

ah, IAP, its been ages since i've even thought about that. I read a nichols et al paper involving several of the chemicals you mentioned. I'm sure there's much more recent, I just haven't read it yet.

Thanks for the explanation regarding mdpv. according to most of what I've read it seems to only have stimulant qualities, a la your amphetamine comparison.
