Over the years I haven't taken care of my mouth, dipping and smoking and not brushing my teeth like I should and now I'm reaping the very painful rewards of it. Whole left side of my mouth hurts in my gums and teeth, sharp and dull pains. Over the past couple months I'd take some advil to make the pain go away but the other day it's come back. I went to the store to get some more meds but got the wrong ones that were weaker. Last night/early this morning was very painful and I think I ate somewhere around 16 350mg acetamenophin pills between 4am and 7am this morning. I went to sleep and woke up with a really bad stomach ache, I threw up, have no appetite, the site or thought of food makes me wanna vomit.

Could I be in the early stage of an overdose? I think the most anyone should take in a 24 hour period is 4000mg and 16x350mg is like 56000 and that was just in a few hours and not counting what I took last night. Told my parents but they just said I can't be taking that much, obviously but the pain was too unbearable. Should I go to a hospital or wait and see if it gets any worse? I haven't taken any since this morning and I don't seem to be getting worse, it'd pretty steady. I feel the same as I did when I woke up. Anything I should be doing to make it better?

If in doubt get it checked out, it's possible to overdose on that amount, though I'd expect it not to be fatal unless you had pre-existing liver problems. However, it really would be best to get it checked out.

Don't take anymore Tylenol. I've read on various forums that the hospital doesn't start treatment until you take 7 grams or 7000 mg in a short period. But you probably did some damage. Just don't make a habit of it. Oh and go see a see
Dentist.

Yeah, I looked up APAP overdose and found that anyone shouldn't take more than 4000mg in a 24 hour period, anything more would be considered an "overdose". I'd say within a 24hr period I may have taken twice that much, give or take a little. But I think I'm feeling better. My stomach is still bothering me a little but I haven't thrown up anymore and I sorta got my appetite back, enough to eat a sandwich without making me wanna vomit just looking at it. I think I may have threw up some of the pills earlier cuz it tasted like straight pills, TMI, sorry. But I did just take a few more only cuz my mouth is hurting really bad but hopefully it doesn't get any worse. I got court in the morning, can't miss that lol

I would go to a dentist but I don't have insurance and no way to pay for it. I applied for medicaid earlier today so hopefully I can get it. I wanna get to the dentist ASAP. I know I'm gonna have to get some teeth pulled and I'm sure they'll wanna put me on some type of pain meds like vicodin or something but I'm trying to stay off opiates and obviously I don't need any aspirin for a while

And I know Harm, I just couldnt deal with the pain anymore. If I would've bought the correct bottle than I would've only had to take like 800mg instead of the 5600+. I took a few more earlier but none since then. I'm sure my liver is on the verge of breaking down with all the shit I've put it through over the years

You need to get your liver function checked, the amount you took can definitely cause liver damage. This is going to cost you some out of pocket money but just go to a family practice office and tell them what happened. The Dr. can give you a bloodwork lab script to take to Labcorp or wherever to check ALT and AST. Or you could just go straight to the ER. Either way I would strongly recommend you get checked out. Liver damage is nothing to mess with. This one won't go away by just ignoring it.

^Do what pill head says. Also it's important to note that it is very normal that after an APAP overdose you will feel completely normal after the initial symptoms, and that liver failure and multiple organ failure can take days to kick in and in between you'll feel generally quite well. Definitely if you notice jaundice you will know why and you need to get to the hospital immediately.

If you truly took double the maximum of 4000mg, so near 8000mg in a 24 hour period, you should get checked.

Cheers

I'd seriously think about cutting out the fucking APAP. That is some evil shit and it really tests your immune system out.

Have you considered ibuprofen or aspirin to deal with pain?

Although safety wise codeine would be possibly be best.... Addiction issues aside. Certainly WAY kinder on your body and liver than apap.

ANd just as an FYI, for those wanting to help your liver recover from excessive APAP use, I can't tell you how important this supplement is; NAC Sustain, by Jarrow. You can find it online and at places like the vitamin shoppe. It has been a godsend to several people I know, and yes...it's what they give you, in the ER, for APAP OD's, only in a larger dose. I know...I work in a hx setting. But it's important that you get the Jarrow because it is sustained release, which seems to make a difference when compared to brands that don't release in such a way. Trust me any of you who are worried about your liver and listen. NAC helps restore some enzymes that APAP use depletes, which contribute to the problem in the first place. I wouldn't spend time writing this if I didn't think it would help. Good luck.
